Old Disney Park photos

Wow. Two and a half hours and I am finally finished. Thanks for sharing some great pictures!

Is that rainbow hallway still there? I remember there being a picture of it in my math book of all places in middle school but I never saw it at WDW

The rainbow hallway is no longer there and neither is the access to get upstairs. Ah, the days when Imagination was really a blast! Anyone remember the activities they had upstairs? I'm remembering a huge pin-impression thingy. You know those things you push your hand in and it leaves the shape? There was a giant one up there!

Gosh, I really do miss the old imagination building. We rode Figment this past time and my daughter enjoyed it, but I know she would have LOVED the old ride.

We've been going since I was a tiny thing, I think we started back in 86, but I have no idea where are photos are. I am going to have to find some of them.

I remember my pass from back then. We had a seasonal Florida resident pass, and it was a hard pass, not the flimsy ticket they give you now. It had my picture on it too. I carried that thing in my wallet for years, my friends all thought I was nuts.

My friends and I found some really old Disney stuff, we all sat around one night and looked at it ... that's when I found out about Discovery Island. I wish they would do something with that.

Does anyone know if Goofy still water skis on the lagoon?

Wow, I love the floats - I didn't get to see that...and seeing all you guys when you were younger is really cool:goodvibes
Here's a pic from 1998 of the double decker bus that transported the characters around EPCOT. Now the bus is red....

Here's another photo, this one is from the original Figment ride...

Now here's me and my girls sharing a shake at the 50's Prime Time Cafe..

And here's us sharing ice cream on Main Street five years later...

I also have some photos of the girls at Universal...It was Before IOA. We walked into some sort of area where they were promoting the idea and I took photos of the girls....I know it's not the spot, but it's the beginning of IOA!

I remember that spot....we were at Hallowen Horror Nite in like 97 and saw the area where they were promoting the IOA concept. It was really cool to see the concept art and models of IOA!

Nice pics. They bring back a lot of memories.

Just look at the "future" computer monitors back then: 3 feet deep !! :lmao:

The imagineers didn't think about the flat panels we have today

I soo miss COP!! Too funny about the flat panels!

We went on COP a few weeks ago. It's still there. They REALLY need to update clothing on the last part though! It looks like the stuff is from the early 90's!

I thought I would share a photo, too. This was taken on my first trip to WDW. I had (and still have) a serious thing for Donald and Daisy, so I had to get a pic here:

I spent an HOUR at my dad's today trying to find the slides from our WDW in 1985. No luck. I found slides from everything else ranging from 1976-1988. Just no WDW ones. I found one of the hotel we stayed in but that was it. It was very discouraging. I had a stressful weekend and I really wanted those slides to cheer me up. My dad says they are around somewhere. Hopefully I can post soon!!

I did find 5 from 1972 (I have NO idea who took this trip..it was before I was born!!) But they weren't anything that hasn't been posted already.

I recently found some pics from my first trip to WDW, in April of 1984. My mom didn't take many pictures but I figured I could share a few. None of them are very good...but you can tell they are dated...LOL

(I already posted these on a thread for vintage resort pics, and someone there suggested I post them here, as well!!)

At the Gatorlando Zoo! (Is this even around still?!)

scan0007.jpg

The castle looks about the same...however, look at some of the people...LOL Oh, how I love the 80s.

scan0009.jpg

No zoom on camera = objects VERY far away! But, at least we know what the parking situation at Epcot looked like 20+ years ago.

Again with the far away.

Momma, my cousins & I (I'm the one sleeping...LOL) in front of the China Pavilion.

And, lastly, Liberty Square Riverboat and The Haunted Mansion!

Neat pictures! Yes, Gatorland is still there, although they had a fire awhile back. I don't think they were closed for too long though.

Hey! You are from Kalamazoo!!! Howdy neighbor!!! :wave2:

Yep, I go to school in Kalamazoo (WMU)! Home for the summer, though...and at Disney for the fall semester (WOO!)...so, I won't be back until January. :guilty:
Are you from Kzoo, or somewhere nearby?

I was reading some vintage photos thread on one of these boards yesterday and someone had posted an old park hopper - so I got out all of mine that I could find - thought everyone would love to see the old ones.

Passes.jpg

The first one is from 1981 (3 days in the magic kingdom for $27.75 - what a bargain!!); then the next one looks like 1984 ($65.50 for a 5 day park hopper -Magic Kingdom and Epcot)

Passes2.jpg

1984 Park Hopper for 4-days, two parks for $48.00;
1989 Park Hopper for 4-days, three parks for $97.00 (grand opening of MGM)

1990 Park Hopper for 5-days including Pleasure Island for $130.00;
1990 Park Hopper for 4-days for $99.00 (Magic Kindom Club - I miss the Magic Kingdom Club)
1990 Park Hopper for 6-days - no price on it.

I also found some old napkins that I had kept.

Does anyone know if the napkins still look like this at the CBR???

I don't know what ride this is from - my guess would be Jungle Cruise or Tom Sawyer - anyone?

indians.jpg

I still have a bunch more, but these should give you guys a few to look at!

This is the indian village that's visible from the WDW RR and the riverboat. It was still there last September . . . .

NO WAAAY! I so thought I read that COP was finally closed for good! Thats great news! Looks like I will be visiting COP once again next month =)

Here are some shots from my first trip in 1976. Going to put the resort pictures in the vintage resort photos thread...

My sister with Snow White. I was too scared of her to be in the photo. My sister doesn't look thrilled either. :>

I finally made it to my parents house and scanned a few!

These are all from Easter week 1986..I was 10 years old!

Gotta love the short Mickey shirt my brother was wearing!

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad!

Totally 80's!

That's me gasping and covering my mouth..! I wish I knew why!

Not sure if this is Chip or Dale...

I seriously choked on my diet coke looking at these pictures! I absolutely LOVE the shorty shirt your brother was wearing!:thumbsup2 How totally 80's of him! Loved it.

And you were with Dale in the Chipmunk Picture! I remember who's who b/c Chip's nose looks like a chocolate chip and Dale's nose is red b/c Dale drinks! ;):rotfl2: What he drinks is a mystery...fermented Acorn sap was my dad's forever guess!

I always tell Chip & Dale apart because Dale has two teeth & Chip has only one. I like your version better though. :thumbsup2
