Old Disney Park photos

Not quite as old, and I don't remember the price (but thinking in the neighborhood of 25 per day?) some tickets from my 95 visit.

[Ah! Good old Google! It was 37 per day! And here are ALL the prices! http://allears.net/tix/tixincrease.htm ]

IIRC, that is Communicore East & West

Communicore is what is now known as Innoventions.

The building in question is still there- thinking the original poser of this question either didn't pick up that this shot is from inside the park looking toward the entrance? Or is not that familiar with the park?

That building is the access for the SSE ride, and the display/play areas after the ride. The windowed area you see in the center houses the VIP lounge. The person taking this picture would now be standing at the info counter where the ride time boards are.

Here are a few from the new addition to WDW, Epcot and its Future World!

Our first visit was 1999. I'm really curious, whats that building around Spaceship Earth? x

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Between the removal of the flowing waters in the plaza between the Communicores, and the bridges... and them allowing the trees in the plaza to grow much fuller, It looks much different today. (I think this picture may even be when the display area was still open with the WorldKey kiosks on the back wall, Before they enclosed it to create the interior display space you have today)

It's also missing that huge structure (built for the Millenium Celebration) that is now the Pin Station.

I think the Picture was actually taken from about the position of the Pin Station, so it wouldn't be in the picture even if it was there.

Hmmmmmm???? :confused3
I don't think the distance is right.
I think the person taking the picture would have had the pin station right in front of them. But... it's hard to tell.....

True... It is a bit hard to tell.... But i'm also giving the distance a BIT more leeway due to the way older cameras tended to focus compared to the newer ones.... and the fact that the railing from the bridges over the old streams may be also playing tricks on the perspective.

I posted this just the other day (I think?) from the front of the monorail approaching the Magic Kingdom in Jan 1973.

I would also note that these and the topes back then were natural, bushes lovingly trimmed to create the forms, where as the ones now are more likely to be plant matter applied to a wire frame.

:)

It's so funny, I rememeber the tree animals going from MK to Epcot via monorail, but not many others I know seem to remember them. Thanks for posting!

This is a great photo. I just realized a few days ago that there used to be water closer to Spaceship Earth. As you can see in this photo the guard rails on the right and the left. There was water on each side. Now it's all filled in.
