Listening to the e-mail show and the last discussion.

Years ago, when the Disneyana Convention existed, there was a special Disney Discoveries tour of MK before Park opening. It started at 7:00 with a bus to backstage from the Contemporary

From what I recall, we rode Space Mountain with the lights on. We actually went on the stage of Hall of Presidents. We went into the Banquet Hall at HM, and we had a private ride on Splash. This finished at Park opening. It ended with breakfast in Liberty Tree Tavern with some Imagineers dining with us. There may have been some other items in the tour, but these three are what I remember.

This tour was only done one year, and it ran about $100 per person. I could look up the year, but I think it was about 1998.

That sounds like the most amazing tour ever! I'm so jealous that I missed out on that opportunity! I would pay twice that just to go into the HM banquet hall : )

Oh. Cheshire,

That is so cool...what a great tour that sounds like....sure wish they would bring it back.

Val & I used to go to those conventions (really miss them). Unfortunately we didn't do that session but it sounded great. sigh

I used to go to them too! I was there for the Villans year, the 40th Anniversary DL, and the Brave Little Tailor one. I didn't make it that year, though.

I loved all of the tour experiences and would have been all over that one. My favorites included going underneath the Futureworld Fountain in Epcot, touring the undeveloped wetlands on property and seeing the gators, the Physics class where we rode Big Thunder with cups of water in our hands, and a host of other great times.

Those were the days....

Val & I did that physics class one...not successfully. :rolleyes1

Judy and I were at all ten of the Disneyana Conventions. Plus the 2002 Disneyana "Event". She was always very easy to identify; she always wore a straw hat with pins on the crown and was a pin trader before Disney made pin trading a profit cventer.

I'm sure we saw you. Val & I were at 6 of them.

I never understood Disney's decision to stop this event.
