HI! Has anyone stayed at the Old Key West? We are going for 3 days at the end of April and for the first time we are staying on Disney property at the Old Key West! I was just curious how it was and what kind of things they have on the grounds etc... And I understand if you buy the mugs from the disney resort that are refillable they pay for thereself in one day! Is this true? It's been two years and never had the experience of Disney property but we have been there three times! Thanks for any help!

We havent stayed at OKW yet. Its our home resort and we will be staying there in Oct. You should check out the DVC board. They have tons of great info on OKW there as well as many members who have stayed there.

They do not have refillable mugs at OKW like they do at the other resorts. They have Basketball courts, bikes you can ride, shuffleboard courts(had a blast playing in the rain) sandy play areas by the swimming pools. The rooms are very large. A wonderful boat ride to downtown disney. A nice resturant(try the pea soup ) It's a wonderful relaxing resort we will be there from the 12-18. You will really enjoy OKW.

I was there for part of my honeymoon 7 years ago and also spent a week there last month. If you plan to take the Disney bus transportation request something near a bus stop. The grounds are spread out. We took the bus 2 days and drove our own vehicle the other 2 days. On the days we planned to park hop we decided to drive to save some time since the buses can be a bit slow sometimes. We had a room that backed to the golf course and from our patio we could feed the ducks. It is really a nice resort! We had a 1 bedroom unit that had a w/d but free washers and dryers are located by the main pool area. Since this is the Budget Board, also thought I'd mention that if you want to avoid the 75 cent per local call charge, there is a courtesy phone located in the waiting area outside Olivia's restaurant on site.

In the past, there was a refillable mug that sold for about $11. It's a seasonal mug and doesn't have resort pics on it. In the summer it was Lilo and Stitch, and in October it was Bug's Life. It could be refilled at the snack place near the pool and Turtle Pond I believe. We did enjoy our stays on rented points. Still working on DH to buy DVC.

Thanks for all the great info! I hope they do have those mugs i was going to try it for the first time! I'm looking foward to it! We leave for Orlando on April 23rd!!
