I am staying there in Dec ? did you use/see lots of kids around the main pool.. did you have a 4 or 10 cup coffee pot - so i can be prepared.. did you use the Disneys transportation ? Thanks Michelle

I know the 1BR and 2BR have a full size coffee pot. I always bring my own coffee and filters.

There are always kids at the main pool. We actually prefer the quiet pools when we go home to OKW.

We use Disney transportation to go to the theme parks, but our next trip is for 10 nights so we are renting a van to get out to other Orlando sites (and the outlet malls, right, DW?)

Have fun!

Hi joepoe, I am renting a car too as my AP runs out in the middle of the trip and we will be enjoy the resorts and offsites as well..
but sometimes its easier as a single mom to use the Disney Bussed but i heard they are not the greatest at OKW ?? Michelle

I see by your signature that you've stayed at CBR and are planning to stay at All-Stars and POR. The buses at OKW are as good or better than the transportation at these resorts.

Thanks Pam , i fixed my signature actually its coming up this year.. sorry

I have heard some horror stories on waittimes, but have never personally had a problem. I remember one day we had to wait what seemed like forever for a MK bus, but it was only about 30 minutes. We just were so pumped to go.

I always have a car. Part of the whole "vacation" idea is doing what I want on my own schedule. I've read good things about the bus service at OKW, but it's just not my thing.

We always do the Bus thing (except for DD - we like to drive - it's so close and we don't want to lug back on the bus all of our Treasures).

We don't mind the 20 or so minute wait for the Bus because we don't want to have to park and get the Tram or Monorail (seems like just as much of a wait to me).

We stayed at OKW over Easter week last year. We took the buses everywhere, even though we had a car. Nice to let someone else do the driving!! ;) We were very pleased with the bus service. The only time we waited longer than 10 min. or so was trying to get a bus from DTD back to OKW. We had missed the last boat back, so were stuck taking the bus. Never again! Once it showed up, it was a very slow trip back because of all the stops before OKW. But aside from that one time, we were more than satisfied with the bus service.

The bus service was fine from OKW back in Oct. of 2001

This past week we drove, but were only going to IofA
We did use the boat service from OKW to DD for dinner one night, but opted for the BW area. We caught a bus to the BC out in front of Planet Hollywood right away and headed to ESPN. (Could have caught one to BW)
We heard it is rough taking a bus from resort to resort so we opted for a cab from BW to OKW. Around 8$, I believe.

If going to Disney events at the parks I would always use the
busses....it's nice not to have to deal with driving, parking.

We found if we wanted to be at a park for opening, it pays to head out early to the bus stops....better to sit there a few extra minutes instead of watching the first bus head past while you are walking out your door!

We were there from December 27,2001-January 3, 2002 and the bus service was nothing sort of excellent to and from OKW.
