Just a few questions about OKW....we're staying for the first time at OKW in December. Wanted to get into WL Villas, no availability.

Why do you love OKW?

Does OKW have bell service?

Thanks!

We enjoy OKW for the villa sizes and for the ambiance.

Yes, there is a Bell Staff and they will transport guests and luggage to (and from) your villa.

Enjoy! :)

And we love Olivia's and the pool at Turtle Pond. (We also like parking directly outside our building, but it sounds like you might not be needing that.)

The rooms are not the quietest, but they usually have two large beds even in the studios! The restaurant is very good and moderate pricing. The takeout counter by the pool is also very good. The quiet pool was nice ....we have not been to the Turtle Shack area but folks with kids seem to enjoy that. We like the boat to DTD. I have found the CM's and Bell Service to be especially good at this resort. Not sure why, but it is a very relaxed atmosphere so maybe that creates the Cms seeming very unrushed and very helpful . You can walk or bike to Saratoga Springs and you can park right outside your room if you have a car. The entire area is nicely treed, making for nice strolls in the evening. We like trying to stay within walking distance of the restaurant ( Olivia's) if possible.
The best part is the beds...I don't like most Studios as the bed is too small for 2 and the sofa sleepers...well,,, they are sofa sleepers!!

We will need parking for six nights as we're renting a vehicle to go off property (yikes!) to visit my aunt. I've read that some buildings do not have parking outside, so we requested one with parking near the hospitality house.

Our children are very excited about the pool with the water slide!

Reasons i love OKW

1) room size, balocny size

2) Quite

3) you can park your car in front of your room

4) It is spread out enough to take walks.

5) The pool area is great

The rooms are not the quietest, !

I have to disagree with this. We have always found our OKW villas to be the quietest of any property. I think it has to do with the set-up of the resort. Instead of opening off of a hallway (which tends to generate more noise) the OKW villas open off of semi-private stairways. There is virtually no traffic outside your door which keeps things very quiet. We've also never had any noise issues from neighbors at OKW.

We love OKW because of the wonderful Key West-style theming, the laid-back atmosphere and the "million miles away from it all even though you're right next door" feel of the place. It's most definitely our favorite of the WDW DVC properties.

Enjoy your stay!

Just stayed at OKW about a week ago. Many of the reasons why I like it have been mentioned here.

The CM's were absolutely awesome, can't say enough about them
Large room size
Laid back ambiance
Olivia's - priced well and excellent food
Boat ride to DTD and SSR (the Turf club is really good too and the dock is very close)

As for the noise level, it has to depend on where you are. I would imagine the villas that aren't near a main road are very quiet, next time I'll request one on the river. However we were in building 49 (4926, a studio) at the end next to Buena Vista Drive and we could hear all the traffic noise from that busy road. That and the lack of elevators for my travelling companion were the only cons for me.

So request an area that is not near a main street and you'll probably be fine. Yes, they do have bell services and we did use them to haul our luggage up the stairs, I carried everything back down.

Have a great trip!

In response to Crafty Mouse...you are right in some ways it is quieter and even tho I was on a main road I had little noise from that ..the noise I experienced was hearing the neighbors come in in the evening..I could hear them talking etc...it was not bad tho they were courteous...I just thought the walls a bit thinner than some resorts...

You can't request 'near Hospitality House'. It's a booking catagory. I will say that there are two buildings that do not have parking in front of them, and one of them is 64 which is one of the elevator buildings not far from HH. The other is building 11 in the "near hospitality house" catagory.

We have always stayed in the turtle pond area and it always been a great place to stay. The rooms are great and big. The bus stops are easy to get to and parking is great to. I hope you enjoy your stay. JP
