Which building would you request at OKW? We're staying in July using a friend's timeshare. So, I don't know much about the resort. :flower:

Personnally I like bldng.55 or 46...they're on the canal and overlook the water. However, you may want to request a section you like rather than a particular bldng.# as you may have a better chance at your request being met. I like Southpoint section but lots of people like Turtle pond area and the golf course views or to be near the HH and the main pool area ...FWIW I've never had a spot in OKW in 8yrs now that we weren't happy with;)

REquest the things that are most important to you...ie smoking preference, proximity to main hospitalty house, proximity to pools or bus stops. There are 60 buildings at OKW, all of them with wonderful rooms and views. Depends on what size unit too. Most of the studios are on the ends of the buildings, and may have a lot of foliage and air conditioning units outside.

BTW, I would also go to the Disney site and check out the information on OKW.

Building 62, 2nd or 3rd floor.

Nice view of the pond, golf course, and you can see the fireworks from you room at night.

My 2 cents.

We like Turtle Pond Road. We had great water views in 31, 37 & 43 (1 bedrooms). We like the quiet.

Just to point out, that you have had 6 responses for "good view" buildings. There are 60 OKW buildings and 230 studios. You can see that there is not one person on here who is going to know the specifics of each of those 230 studios. That is why I said to request what is important to you. About the most specific I would get is smoking preference and maybe an area (like near main pool or Turtle Pond etc). Being more specific will probably be counter productive.

It really depends on what you like. Do you want to be able to walk to the main pool and restuarant? We like 15 thru 17 bldg, bldg, 62,63, 11 thru 14. Do you want to be near one of the quiet pool or canal? That would be a diff request. Almost all bldgs are looking at the golf course. The one side of OKW is a little close to the road and you can hear when outside your room. 19 thru 22.

Check this map out maybe it will help you decided where you would like to be:

Have a great vacation.

Also, would a walk up three flights of stairs bother you? We just got back from our first stay at OKW, bldg. 18, #1831 ( a studio). We really liked it! We could walk to HH within 5 minutes, had Miller Rd. bus stop very close, quiet pool was close, our view of the pond and 6th hole (I think it was the 6th) fairway was somewhat obstructed by the tops of the palms, but it was okay with us. But, for a couple of sorta out of shape folks, the walk up the stairs to the 3rd floor was not looked forward to at the end of of day in the parks. DH and I said it was good for us though, but if the climb would be an issue, be sure to ask for a 1st floor room or a bldg. with an elevator.

If you request a building number, whoever is assigning rooms has no idea WHY you wanted that building number and if it's not available, they have no idea of what is important to you.
Some of the buildings suggested (like asking for one of the buildings with an elevator) are frequent requests and there are only 3 buildings with elevators, so they are hard to fill requests.
It's better to just ask for what you want (and list them in the order of importance), like non-smoking, close to main pool, 2nd floor, etc.

If you like being near the main area...the main pool, the store, the restaurant, the check-in area...then request that.

If you prefer off the beaten path a bit, we like the Southpoint area...close to a quiet pool, a bus stop, the walkway to Downtown Disney.

Truthfully, we have never had a "bad" room at OKW. Most of the resort either has a view of the golf course, the waterway, or a nice wooded area.

I request buildings 21, 16, 62, 63, or 64. All are non-smoking buildings. I hated buildings 11-14, because I am claustrophobic, and the foliage around my balcony caused me to have panic attacks. As noted in other posts, it all depends upon what you consider important when reserving a room. Since I am claustrophobic, I need a room where the foliage isn't close by, but you may love to have the privacy that foliage gives you. ;)
