OKW vs BCV

Our family, (2 adults 2 kids, 11 & 15), is meeting up with my sister and her husband for a week at Disney. We have narrowed our choices to a 2 Bedroom at either OKW or BCV.

I know OKW has larger rooms, but the resort is also very spread out and I haven't heard very good things about the bus service. Kinda like the location of BCV.

Can anyone help me make a decision?

The only thing I can say is that your information about bus service at OKW must be very old, because the bus service there in the past 3 years has been marvelous! That is NOT true of bus service from BCV to MK though. That service is a nightmare!

If you are planning on spending most of your time in Epcot, then BCV is the best place to stay. If you are going to be going to all the parks, I think there is no real advantage to either location. Transportation time to MGM from BCV will be about the same length of time as busing from OKW, but you will get there faster by walking from BCV.

I second what Diane says. Epcot is not our family's park of preference, so the location at BCV is not a particular perk. We tend to spend most of our time in the MK. We find OKW bus service to be great.....particularily in the last 4 years or so. We never waited more than 10-15 min for busses at OKW. We also prefer the larger villas and bigger balcony there. We feel we can actually spread out on the OKW balcony.

But if you're planning on mostly visiting Epcot, then BCV is the way to go. Also, the pool at BCV (Stormalong Bay) is really good. It's argued by some to be the best one on wdw property. So if you're planning on alot of pool time, you might want to stay at BCV.

With four adults and 2 kids you might want to do OKW because of the extra room. In the living room you have a couch, love seat and chair for folks to sit in plus the dining room table that does four easy. However, if you're going to let the kids go off on their own BCV might be better since there is more things happening over in the BC/YC/BW area.

If the kids love to swim, SAB at BCV is where it's at. For a little more room, OKW would be great, but 6 in a 2 bedroom at BCV should be roomy enough. There is also mach more to do along the Boardwalk area.
