We are big fans of OKW 2 bdr villa. Considering staying at BCV next trip so the kids can enjoy SAB and like the idea of walking to EPCOT. Heard the BCV are smaller than OKW. Will I be disappointed?

Get ready to have a great time at BCV!

You mentioned some of BCV's strong points, and so many people also like the Marketplace, Cape May Cafe, Beaches and Cream and the other ammenities of the area. Self parking is also convenient there. You'll love it!

Bobbi :)

PS. I don't mean to gloss over the fact that yes, the 2 bedroom will be smaller, you may not like THAT, but the rest, yes, BCV is wonderful

Compared to what you're use to at OKW, the BCV villa will seem extremely small. There is no full sized washer/dryer, but a compact stackable set in a closet.

It's not a full sized refrigerator but an apartment sized refrigerator. Also, unless they've added them, there is no ice-maker.

There is no dining table, but instead the dining counter as part of the kitchen and a small 2-person table.

The photo comparison below shows the difference between an OKW 1-B/R villa and a BWV 1-B/R villa (BCV would be similar to BWV)

The living area has only a 2-cushion pull out sofa. OKW has both a 2-cushion (not pull out) plus a full sized 3-cushion pull-out sofa.

As the other poster mentioned, it depends on what will be more important to you, the room or the location. BCV has a lot going for it outside of the room itself.

It might be worth it just to experience a different resort, and prepare yourself to accept the villa the way it is. If you know what to expect, it shouldn't be a disappointment, and then go out and enjoy the BCV area itself.

If you're planning on going to Epcot, BCV is a great location.

We're a dyed in the wool Old key West family.....BUT....we've been members so long that we fondly remember when we could pool hop to Stormalong bay. The kids still talk about the cheese bread at Yacht Club Galley where we would have lunch. Alas, no more pool hopping to Stormalong Bay so occasionally we spend a night or two at Beach Club Villas just to be there. The rooms are disappointingly small but the kids tolerate it for a day or so for the pool.

Also at OKW the second bedroom always has two beds. At BCV, if you get a 2BR lockoff, you will have one queen bed and a full-size sleeper sofa in the second bedroom. Even some of the dedicated 2BRs at BCV have one bed and a sleeper sofa. If you want two queen beds in the second bedroom, you have to reserve exactly that type of villa and there are not very many of them.

But apart from "downsizing" your accommodations, I think you will enjoy everything else about BCV. It is a wonderful resort with a fabulous pool. And when you stroll home after Illuminations, you will really appreciate staying at BCV!

Yes, the units are smaller than at OKW, but I still think amply sized for a vacation condo and you do have all the benefits of the BCV...SAB, Beaches & Cream, walk to the Boardwalk, Epcot, MGM and so on.

I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Those are my two favorite resorts. One thing I miss at BCV, though, is that huge porch with the table to sit around. BCV's porch is about 4-4 feet deep, with a few chairs. But it's just a short stroll into Epcot from BCV.
