OKW vs AK Studio I can't decide!

Basically a friend of mine has a friend that she often rents points from and highly recommended her to me for my upcoming trip. It is about 125 more than my plan to stay at a value. These are the 2 resorts I can book within my budget.

We are staying at WDW from 1/18 and checking out 1/20, then heading to port C for a cruise. DH only wants to go to 2 parks, so we are likely visiting MK and Epcot. I tried to convince him to do a 3rd day at HS since DS loves this park, but we get in at 1 and are already spending a nice chunk of dough. His plan is to have a resort day and take it easy on arrival.

I'm not sure which to pick. Any ideas? I am kind of leaning toward AK, but wonder about the transportation. Also AK has 1 queen bed and 1 pull out sofa. OKW has 2 queens, and seems to be more laid back and relaxed.

We've never had any transportation issues at AK. I definately would not let that be an issue that keeps you from going there.

Hmm, hard decision!
I have stayed at OKW before, so I can only offer my opinion on AKL.

You mentioned OKW seeming more laid back and relaxed....I found AKL to be very relaxing. It feels like it's a million miles away from anything when you're there...but you're really just a short ride to away from Disney parks!

Sitting around watching the animals is fun and can pass the time quicker than you realize. There are lots of resort activities there, aimed for kids, adult, and the family. You could easily spend your two nights there and never even set foot in a park.

So I guess I'd flip a coin, or decide by the bed issue.

We have stayed at OKW over 20 times. We're DVC and it's our home resort. We have stayed at AKL - Kidani twice. I love OKW, but I think Kidani might be the best way for you to go. We never had an issue with transportation. It's an easy 10 minute walk between the two lobbies (there's also a shuttle). And the pool at Kidani is much more kid friendly than OKW. FWIW

We stayed at both resorts in September. We were in Kidani in a one-bedroom villa, but we did NOT use the buses (we did not go to the parks while there...just enjoyed the resorts). We were in a Studio at OKW for four nights. We rent a car, but while at OKW we used the buses most of the time and we never waited more than two minutes for a bus going to the parks and about ten minutes on average returning back to the resort.

THanks! We ended up booking at Old Key West and I am so excited now! I showed DS the pool area and he said "Book it" lol.

Your DS will love it -- it's really great; and there were lots of kids games going on while we were there.
