Hi All -

My family and I would like to stay at OKW & VB May 2004. Any suggestions for Grand Villa & 2 BR requests at OKW and Beach Cottages/2BR at Vero?

If you had a week to spend would you venture to Vero or would you just stay in Orlando? We haven't stayed in our "Home" OKW and we haven't stayed in Vero either. We have been using our points for the Magic - but wanted to do something different. We have been to Orlando many times which is why we thought we would spend some time in Vero.

What would you do?

If you have 7 days, I would do 4 days at OKW and 3 days at VB.This way you get to see both resorts and have an idea where and how long to plan for your next visit.;)
If you are flying down I would do VB first, then you would be only 30 minutes from airport(MCO) when you finish up at OKW.;)

At VB there are only 6 Beach Cottages, you can't go wrong with any one.

What kind of vacation do you want? Active with lots to do or laid back and relaxed? Personally, if I only had seven days I wouldn't waste one of them moving from one resort to the other. I'd pick a place and hang out there. 7 days really isn't that long.

We'd really enjoy a 7 day stay at Vero Beach at a beach cottage. We've really enjoyed 9 days in a villa before, and plan longer in the future. If your inclined to go to WDW for the activities, I'd take 7 days there and enjoy all there is to do.

I would book your GV as soon as the 11 month window is up at OKW. I really don't think you can get a cottage at VB at 7 months unless you want Fri and Sat nights. We have points at both and could only get the cottage for those nights. We didn't book the VB cottage at the 11 month window because we had not bought points there then. I gather it is very hard to get a cottage unless you call daily at the 11 month window. We bought points at VB for that very reason. We really wanted a location that we could see the ocean from our room. OKW 2 bedrooms are very nice but if you want a lot of space and have many people coming, a GV is great. When we were there May 2002 we stayed at OKW in a GV for 6 nights and then off to VB in a cottage for 2 nights. We liked the quiet time of VB after the busy time at WDW. We had 8 people with us so a 2 bedroom would have been fine, but we wanted the additional space of a GV. I know you will love both places and if you want a GV go for it.

Thanks to everyone for the wonderful responses!

I think we will be going to OKW for the week in a GV - any suggestions for location/room requests?
