Just a quick question! Will the Turtle Shack Pool Bar be open in August? I know it isn't open all year round! Also, can you fill up the refillable mugs there? Never been based in this area before, always been in buildings in the 50's and thinking of trying somewhere new!! ha! ha!

The Turtle Shack is usually open during the summer months, but closes fairly early in the evening.

I never have gotten refillable mugs, but I would assume they could be filled there, but you may have to ask a CM. I didn't see any self serve units, but they could add those at any time.

Turtle Pond is our favorite area. We usually request a unit there. Turtle Shack is open seasonally. It should be open in August. You can get your mugs refilled there, but there's no self serve machine like at Good's to Go. You have to ask the cm there to fill it for you. The Turtle Shack closes at 5PM.

Our experience has been that they are generally closed in inclimate weather too.

Thank you so much for your replies! We are normally down in the 50's buildings as we like being by the quiet pool, the view overlooking the waterway and being close to the path to Downtown.
However, we'd like to try a different area......................so what do you like best about the turtle shack area? Does the pool get really crowded? Is it convenient for the bus stops? What are the views from the buildings there like? Any photos greatly appreciated and any recommended rooms etc!
I can highly recommend building 55 to anyone looking for somewhere quiet and peacefu!

We had building 55 once, and our room was directly above the hot tub. We hated that room because we were treated to some loud, drunken, conversations at all hours of the night. It sounded like they were in our living room! If you request that building, I would recommend requesting a room as far from the pool as possible.

We like Turtle Pond because it feels like it's in the middle of the resort. We also like having access to the Turtle Shack, the Flying Fish arcade, the shuffle board court, and the second tennis court. It gives my teens some other things to do without making the trip to HH. The pool is also slightly larger than the other two quiet pools.

La2KW,
Oh dear! I'm so sorry you had a less than peaceful experience in building 55!! I guess we have just been lucky with the people who have been staying in that area when we were there and didn't get bothered by any noise, however, it certainly is close enough that if someone was loud you would hear it!

Also been in buildings 45 and 46, but whilst the view was nice we got quite a lot of bus noise and it wasn't close enough to a pool for us.

You are tempting me to try the Turtle Shack area! Which buildings would you recommend/not recommend? I heard that some of them get a lot of traffic noise? What views do the rooms have? Does the pool there get very crowded?
