OKW to POR ?

We are staying at OKW this summer (possibly SSR). DD may be staying at POR with friends. Is there an easy way to travel between the two? (walk, boat,etc.) I'd like to spend some evenings at POR pool, so nightime transportation is important. TIA

you could take the boat from OKW to downtown and then hop on the boat to POR, but you may want to check to see what the hours of operation are so you do not get stranded.

The fail safe way is to go to the resorts via bus to and from DD if the boats are not running. This involves two buses, but it likely to be even faster than using the boats since you still have to go to and from DD on the boats if I remember the routes correctly (you might be able to transfer at SSR, but I don't think there is a boat that goes to BOTH OKW and POR at the same time).

It would be easier to get from SSR to POR. From SSR you could:
1. boat to DTD and then switch to the POR boat (they use the same dock)
2. walk to DTD and bus to POR.
3. walk to DTD and then boat to POR
4. bus to DTD and boat to POR

The walking path from SSR takes you right to the bus stop and very, very close to the boat dock. You could walk to either in about 5 minutes.

They were open when we were there - the lighting is fine although somewhat subdued. There are several sections of them that do not go to the villas that are closed but Ii think the main ones are open. We stayed in the CP area of SSR and it was an easy walk to DTD bus area.

The walkway from OKW to DTD is closed at dusk. There is also a sign that says that the pathway right after the bridge at DTD to SSR is also closed at dusk. Other SSR pathways may indeed be open.

The best way to get between OKW and POR is to drive your own car. You can't walk because there are no paths between the two. No direct buses and no direct boats.

if all else fails , sometimes I think its worth it to spend $10.00 or so on a taxi ! even if I took a cab back all week it is usually cheaper then renting a car !
