OKW Suggestions????

I'm planning a trip to the "world" for the week of Halloween 2006. I want to stay at my home resort, OKW, and will be staying here for the first time since becoming a DVC member. If anyone had a great view that they had that they can suggest to me, that would be great. I only need a studio. If anyone had a view of fireworks from Epcot, or a nice water view or garden view that they would like to share, I would greatly appreciate it. I would also like to be as close to the Hospitality House as possible as well. Any words of wisdom are welcome and appreciated.

We where it building 14 as close to the Hospitality house as you can get though. Not a good view .

We like the 23-26 building area - great water/golf views and easy walk to bus stop and hospitality house.

There really aren't any "spectacular" views at OKW, just as there aren't any "awful" views, either. This is especially true for studio balconies, as they are sort of on the "side" of the buildings. Generally views are woods, golf, and water.

At OKW it is better to request what you need rather that what you want to "see". For instance, will you have a car? If not, you may want to request to be near the Hospitality House...that is the area near check-in, Oilivia's restaurant, main pool and last bus stop on the route. If simply being near a bus stop is important, request that, there are 5 stops scattered throughout the resort. There are also 3 other pools. Remember, too, that only the three "60s" bldg have elevators. I usually try to leave those for folks that need elevator access...also the parking isn't the best there. So you may want to request 1st or 2nd floor, that third floor walk can be a little tiring after a full day at the parks, even though the staircases have a fairly gentle rise.

While I agred there aren't many great views from the studios, I disagree that there aren't any spectacular views at OKW. The Miller's Road buildings (18-22) get some pretty spectacular views and especially sunrises, while buildings 45, 46,55 and 56 have some spectacular water views.

I agree. We've had what we consider spectacular views from #43, 45 and 62. All had water views. From 45 we had the view of the waterway leading to DD and enjoyed watching all the watercraft go back and forth.
Of the these 3 most recent trips, #62 had a wonderful water view, a glimpse of Illuminations and was mere steps from HH (we were in a 1 bedroom). If being close to HH is that important to you, make this your first request.

I've got room reports at OKW. Studios with great views (at least that people said) and close to the Hospitality House were in Building 18 and 20.
