We will be "going home" to OKW in February for one week. Does anyone have any suggestions as to whether we should stay real close to the hospitality house or opt for a "room with a view"? We have two daughters, ages 9 and 6. Can anyone name any specific rooms that they stayed in that they thought were extra special? Thanks in advance for any advice or help!
:D

New York Minnie,

Welcome to the DIS! I would recomend staying near the HH house. Bldgs 11-14 are the nearest ones to the HH house.:D

We have stayed at several homes on the Miller's Road loop, and enjoyed both a view of the pond and golf course (and fantastic sun rises) as well as fairly good proximaty to the HH. I don't like to be too close to HH, but it was an easy walk from there. We loved buildings 18 and 20. Be aware, however, that these buildings do not have a second entrance to the master bath from the laundry room. If you are using the pull out bed in the living room, you might want to go to the buildings that have that extra door.

We usually make our requests for the South Point area near the pool. We like this quiet area and enjoy the closeness to the walkway to DTD. We also like to be FAR from the HH. It is still easy to get there by bus or a nice walk.

We stayed in a 1bdrm near the Southpoint bus stop - took less than 1minute to get to the bus stop - and took less than 2 minutes to walk to the pool in this area - we were on the 1st flr and from the patio it was pretty private and we had a view of a golf course but not at a hole. Our unit was 5311 and we had no complaints. But ask for general requests not specific - like non smoking, flr ie 1st, golf or wtr view in a certain area like south point or near the Hosp. Hse - this gives the resort more to work with and you have a better chance to get all your requests.
PS
I dont't believe there is a "BAD" unit at OKW;)

I have to agree with Yasuern. No bad units that I know of!;)

Thanks so much for all your advice. It's been really helpful. I pulled out a copy of the map of OKW and checked out all of your recommendations. With all this info, I'll now be able to make a great choice. Thanks again. :Pinkbounc

We go that week every year.......we will be there for 6 nights
Feb 14-20.Check out the countdown clock below.:D

We usually go with Grandchildren and like to stay in Building 62, or 64. They are close to the HH and the children like to go over to the pool, the game room, and, of course buy things in the store!
The bus stop is nearby and the boats are right there.
