OKW questions

I know that maid services is only on the 4th day of the stay. My question is what do we do with dirty towels and how do we get new ones?

Also is there extra trash bags or should I bring extras?

Last, is there a place to throw away the trash?

1) Towels really depends on what type of unit you are staying in. If you are staying in a 1 bedroom or larger, you may wash your own towels right in your room. For studios, we always try to get 2 days out of our towels, and since we usually have only 2 adults in a room, we get along just fine for 4 days. If you find you need more towels, you may call housekeeping for a "towel pack", 4 Bath, 4 washcloths and 2 hand towels are $6. Or, if you want the Trash and Towel service daily, it is $10 per day ordered.

2) There should be extra trash bags in the containers under the trash bags currently in use, if not, call housekeeping for more. Trash disposal is under one of the stairwells in each building, and we usually take ours and deposit it on our way to the breakfast or the parks in the mornings.

Chuck covered most everything, but how long are you staying? If you are there more than a week, you will get a full cleaning "maid service" on Trash and towel day, but if you are staying less than a week, you will only get trash and towel service, not a full maid service.

Just another FYI, as mentioned, if you'll be in a 1bdrm or larger unit you can just wash them in your villa. If you'll be in a studio you can also take them to the laundry room (there's one by each pool) and wash them there - the washers and dryers are free of charge you just need to either bring some extra detergent with you (the Tide tablets pack really well) you can pick up Tide right in the general store or I think there's a vending machine too

lol -- just one more thing....the laundry rooms are by each pool at OKW -- they are on the 4th floor at BCV's and not sure where at the other DVC's but they are available.

My mentality goes initially to OKW and then everywhere else as an afterthought sometimes lol

We are staying in a studio for 5 days. The thing is now I wish we had done a one bedroom. Is there anyway for doing that? I have already booked with a DVC owner from ebay. I guess it will not hurt to ask.

A 1 bedroom unit is usually double the points of a studio at OKW, it also includes a full kitchen, complete with dishes, cookware...most everything you'd need if you want to cook in your room. There is also a large whirlpool tub. However, there is one king bed in the master bedroom and a queen size pull-out sofa sleeper in the living room. A studio would have 2 queen size beds at OKW, a bed and pull-out sofa at other DVC resorts.

If you want to switch to a 1 bedroom it will depend on 1) if you wish to pay the additional cost for double the points to rent 2)if the person you've rented from has that many pionts available and 3)if the resort has a 1 bedroom available for your dates (not usually a problem, except during peak DVC travel times).

Either way, I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time.

I would think it would be cheaper to just order the Trash and Towel service for the other days, than to upgrade your room type.

Mostly just want to upgrade for the bigger room. Since I was new to this I really wasn't sure. I think it should not be much more for a 2 bedroom than the 2 studios I have. It is only like 7 more points. I am just not sure I can do this??

Well again, it all depends on if the member you have rented from has those extra points to rent to you and if there is availability for the 2bdrm for your dates and at the resort you are looking to stay in. If so, then the member can cancel out the ressie for the 2 studios and rebook you the 2bdrm. You won't be able to find out about availability until tomorrow though when MS opens at 9am ....you can ask the member today though if they have the extra points to rent you and if they're willing to do so.

I agree, you can ask the front desk for daily trash and towel (or every other day) whatever you might want, they can add that to your reservation... For a studio I think it is $6-$10 a day... nothing major
