We just booked our first stay at OKW over Easter. Is there any certain buildings that we should request? We will be staying in a studio. Close to the pool or main lobby? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

:)I would suggest you request something close to the main building as possible.
Old key west is a large complex. The main building is where you get the boat to downtown disney, As well as a first stop on the buses to the resorts. You will have a great time!

If you want close to the main pool and main building you needed to request HH catagory when making your reservation. You could always call and see if HH catagory is available. Personally we don't like to be that close to HH and all the activity, yes OKW is a large resort but HH is as close as the next bus, correcting pp HH stop is actually the last bus stop before the busses leave the resort. The stops are as follows: Pennisular Road, South Point, Turtle Pond, Millers Road and finally Hospitality House.

My husband & I just stayed at OKW this past October - we were in the Turtle Pond area and loved it. We never had any issues with the buses being too full when they got to out stop. We were in a 1 bedroom villa in Bldg #30

FYI, you can not REQUEST a Hospitality House room. You must specifically book it since it is a booking catagory. Besides which, that is definitely over rated. OUr preferred areas are Miller's Road and South Point. Miiller's Road is the second to the last bus stop, so always fast out in the mornings. South Point is the second bus stop coming in, so always easy to get a seat. For studios you need to look at the buildings that have an end near the roads. That's where the studio rooms are. Stay away from 29, for example, since the studios on the road side of that building are very near the roadway.

It depends greatly on how you plan to spend your vacation. Do you plan to spend alot of time at the main pool and restaurants? Or do you prefer peace and quiet and staying away from the crowds. Each section of the resort offers a little different feel. My advice to you would be ask yourself what you wish to do on your vacation and then request sections, or buildings accordingly. Then be open to accepting what you get as requests are just that requests. Tell yourself that no matter where you are you will be staying at a fantastic resort with much to do. Even if it is a short walk away. Anyone who has biked the resort knows that it is not that big, although I am sure there are those who aren't as mobile who need specific locations. Be thankful that you are in Disney, make your vacation a happy one and enjoy !:goodvibes:cool1::thumbsup2:rotfl2::banana::woohoo:

I personally like the turtle pond area because it has a pool with a pool bar, and it is still only a 5 mins walk to the Hospitality house, or again, catch a bus to get to HH.
