OKW - Question about the buildings...

Hello DVC'ers!!!

My family and I will be staying at OKW for the first time in a couple of weeks. Could someone give us advice about which buildings to request? I remember there was a post about this a couple of weeks ago, but I couldn't find it.

Any other advice about OKW would be great too.

Hey there, we like staying near the Hospitality House, so we request buildings 64, 63 or 62. For us with 2 kids (young teenagers), they can just walk to the general store, restaurant, pool area without getting on the Bus. During a last few stays this area has been very quite. We've never stayed in early May but we'll find out in less than 23 days.

You'll get different opinions but maybe go to the DIS home page and look at the resort map - this will give you a good idea of the layout.

We always request Blgs 13 or 14, right across from the HH and the main pool.Here is a map for you.

Which buildings are the newer buildings??

I think buildings 63 and 64 are 2 of the newer bldgs.Doc will know for sure.

62 thru 64 are the newest building and are the only ones with an elevator.

I like 18 - but it is always better to request a location or a view than a building - I like water view, near bus stop and quiet pool.

the views are water, golf and woods. you can request a location like near the HH, or on Miller Road or what ever you want.

If you request a specific building and that building is full - the room controller will put where he likes because he doesn't know exactly what you were looking for.

Alot of people want to be near the HH - that is where the front desk, the restuarant, the gift shop(grocery store), a snack bar, the main pool, the exercise room, tennis courts, basketball, a sand beach playground, and the main pool.

An elevator would be great! We have a huge double stroller to carry down, not to mention 2 heavy kids too.

Did I read correctly, Buildings 62 - 64 have elevators? Where?

I've stayed there the last 2 years in buildings 62 and 63 and did not notice any - but I was not looking for them either.

I have never stayed in the new building - but I think one person say the elevators were in the back???

The elevators are in the middle of the front side of buildings 62, 63 and 64. There are also stairs on both ends.


...they are rather obvious too!

I think it's neat all the info you folks have provided on OKW. We are switching from VWL to OKW (already have ressies at VWL) for a late November/Early December trip.

When making the ressies (explained that we would be shifting at our 7 month mark), the CM told me to request Buildings 62/63/64 because those are the newest (and she said nicest).

We stayed in OKW in Dec in bldg 14. You'll have a great time no matter where you stay.
