OKW--pool?

We are going to OKW in 3 weeks and I was wondering since the main pool is closed for construction---are you able to use any of the other Disney pools? I'm really disappointed that the pool is closed as we have twin toddlers and I know they would have loved to play in the kiddie pool. Also, how are the other pools at OKW? We have 2 teenage sons that are coming along too.

Don't be too disappointed. OKW has at least two other (maybe 3?) quiet pools that you can enjoy. And if you're a DVC member staying on points, you can pool hop to any other WDW pool except the ones at the Beach Club (SAB) and Animal Kindom Lodge. I don't think there will be any restrictions in early November on pool-hopping as this is a light crowd time of the year.

Hey Kymi! I'll be down there on Nov.8-11 with my 15yr old son! Will you been there then too? There are 3 quiet pools. We're only going for a short time and I don't know if we'll make it to the pool. We may go to SSR (our home) on Wednesday for the meeting and take a dip then
Depends on how warm it is too. Has to be at least 80 for us to get wet! lololol

Thanks granny----I'm sure we will enjoy our trip. DISNEY ROCKS and staying on-site is THE BEST!!!! This is our very lst time staying at OKW---so I'm looking forward to it.

Tink 03477----we are staying there on Nov 6 - 13th. This will be our first time at OKW----I'm excited but hoping we get a good 2 bedroom villa. Definitely hope we can be in a quiet area. I also have a 15 yr old son and 18 yr old too. What pool do you like the best - out of the other pools? My boys will go swimming regardless of the temp. I'm hoping that the weather will be nice. We have been in November before and found it to be very nice. What airlines are you flying? Have a fun trip and wouldn't that be funny if we happend to bump into each other---he! he!

as stated, OKW has 3 other quiet pools in addition to the main pool which is currently closed for the addition of the new pool slide. Try out the Turtle Shack pool ~ it's the next best thing to the main pool with a nice playground,another small game room and of course most importantly a pool bar/snack bar.

They're also shuttling members and guests via boat over to SSR to be able to use their pool during the pool re-hab as well as being able to pool hop to everywhere you normally can (exceptions of course being SAB and AKL)

We took the boat over to the SSR pool on Saturday. The boat ride was fun and the pool was fantastic! SSR is a gorgeous resort, we hope to try it sometime. We enjoyed our first OKW visit, I think you will too!!!! Tink, I thought our family was the only crazy ones who ONLY swim when it is WARM!!! I totally agree with you, we were at BCV end of last March and we did swim some, but I had to pull the kiddos out when they got too blue Lacee

You might request a building close to the Turtle Pond Pool. That would be the 2nd best pool at OKW. But you would be quite a walk from the HH area if that is important. As mentioned the SSR poll is a good option and a fun hop by boat from OKW.

Hey Kymi, my new favorite airlines is JetBlue! We used them last time, the prices are amazing and can't be beat. We fly out of Logan, first flight of the morning! Yep, it's early; usually 6:30am! But, we are there by 9:45, grab the car and at the resort by 10:30 (11:30 if we stop for groceries). We've never been to OKW so we don't have a favorite pool. From what everyone is saying, we should check out Turtle Pond Pool which has a snack bar and game room. I'm guessing from the name that it is the pool on Turtle Pond Road?? If my building is next to a pool, I'll go. Yes, Lacee; it does have to be warm. I'm such a wuss. I do want to go over to SSR on Wed, pop in to the meeting, check out our "home" pool and meet some fellow DVC'ers and DISBoarders' too! That will be fun.
