OKW Pool Renovation

Noticed in the DVC Newsletter that they are going to expand the OKW Pool and put in a new slide. I believe they said that they were going to start in Spring 2004.

Was at OKW in late March - and they had not started. Going back late May.

Anyone have any info? Could not find a thread on this.

I believe construction is now set to begin in the fall (September?) and is expected to be finished by Christmas/New Years.

Cool deal - that is good news (at least for us). I would suppose they will have to close the pool when they do this.

I saw the drawing - not sure where they are going to put a big slide. Does not seem like there is alot of room.

I think the slide is going to be 32-feet tall. You should have some speed when you hit the water, so I guess they would have it in a deeper area of the pool.

I also read that construction will start this fall.

There has been a lengthy thread with photos of models and renderings. The slide will look like a giant sand castle and will be near the other giant "sand" things.
