I'm sure this information is out there I just can't make my search work...

Does anyone know when the pool at OKW will be finished?

Thanks!
Stephanie

I have reservations for the week of Dec 27th, so I've asked Member Services at least 3 times and I've called OKW itself. I've been told each time that the scheduled completion is mid-December, providing they do not experience any delays. They want the pool open before the holidays. I could have moved to SS, but decided to take my chances when I discovered that my 2 youngest kids don't remember ever staying there and the older 2 kids would like to go back. We've been trying the other resorts the last few years.

I have a friend that will be visiting OKW in mid December. What will be her swimming options? Are there alternative pools there and what are they like? It is her family's first time at WDW.

There are two other "quiet" pools at OKW besides the feature pool. They are really nice, and on past visits we spent most of our time at these pools.

Amy, you missed one -- there are 3 additional pools at OKW. Miller's Road and South Point have smaller pools. Old Turtle Pond has one that's almost as deluxe as the main pool and includes a snack bar. My guess is they will do their best (barring hurricanes) to get the pool ready for Christmas Week.

We'll be there in Feb. for the first time (2nd visit to WDW first time stayed at BWV - our home resort).

Sounds like we'll definitely be in the clear - supposing it's warm enough to swim!

Can't wait, can't wait!

Oops :teeth: ....I forgot about the South Point pool LOL! We haven't visited that one...but we really LOVE the Turtle Pond pool. That is the one we've spent the most time at in past visits to OKW. Thanks for catching my error Pam !

The announced date was right after Labor Day -- I think 9/8.

We will be there in early January and I hope the pool is finished, however, I understand construction crews in Florida are very busy with clean up from the hurricane so I will be patient and understanding if it gets behind schedule.

Our local high school renovation was delayed because so many schools in our area chose the same timeframe to renovate and labor was in short supply and very expense to hire. Our school district chose to wait to save the taxpayers some money.
