OKW points offering

I was very surprised to get the e-mail saying there were 4400 points available for my use year at OKW and detailing the offering. I don't remember any things like this before except when new resorts opened. Do you think they ROFR'd too many OKW contracts or have had some defaulted ones. It didn't say there were any additional units becoming available. Just curious if anyone else got this email and what others thought about it.

Someone here who owns at BWV reported receiving a similar e-mail for their home resort. It appears to be a new marketing scheme.

I don't think it's new. I got a similar e-mail for my use year about 18 months ago.

That's not an uncommon occurrance. At the time we bought -- a little more than a year ago -- DVC had sent out emails for various OKW use years. If you added them up (which, of course, did happen here ), they totalled more than 10,000 points that DVC was holding at OKW alone. I think they had a similar situation (although not as large) at BWV.

I haven't been watching the ROFR thread closely, but I'd be willing to bet that DVC is not ROFRing much OKW unless there are small contracts or contracts priced really too low.

I received the email for OKW yesterday also. Does anyone know what the cost is? It can't be the same as SSR, they have a longer time period.

It states starting at $2300 for an add on so must be $92 a point which is what they have been going for I think. I just didn't realize they had done this before and was curious. Maybe your wish will come true Beca - we'll send some PD your way.

That is a very small amount of points not a lot.

Dang! We, too, own at SSR and stayed recently (end of January/beginning of February) at OKW. We liked it so much we're in negotiations for a private sale of a small contract at OKW.

Wish we had received that e-mail - especially if we get ROFR'd on the small contract!

Any details that you would care to relate on what's available: minimum points purchase, cost, etc?

We got one on Monday for OKW. Our use year is August. Since my son is interested in making a purchase we called to get info. Points are $92.00 ea.

Well, I am that I was left out of this. I have February, March, and August use years at both BW and OKW, and no one sent me any emails. Maybe DVC thinks I have enough points
