the Security guard at the entrance between the Golf courses and FW was gone the entire time I was there - so the FW kennel is now very easy to get too.

especially from OKW - it is between 2 and 3 miles to this kennel.

Is this a better option than the kennels at the parks? Also, do you have experience with HHI or VB kennel options? Thanks.

the front desk at HHI has a list of near-by kennels.

I like FW kennel - because of the walking area - there is a lot room there for your pet to walk - at the Studios and AK there isn't.

Epcot does - kindna of - you can generally walk your pet in the area around where they kept the trams. a big dog would have lots of room to run. the really nice area behind this had been closed off to pets - they have a turtle back there - a big one....that I think they are trying to protect.

so he is happier at Epcot or FW - than the ticket/transporation (MK) too noisy for him - the bus stop is behind here. and there is not alot of room to take a long walk - the street next to it is very busy..., or Studios - no room for him to walk at all... this could have been a great place for people staying at the Epcot resorts - but there is just not a enough space.

Studios say that the AK had even less room so I haven't even try there.

Spicey has been staying at WDW kennels since he was 3 months old - he turned 17 years old this spring - so I guess traveling to WDW agrees with him...

::yes::

I am new to this board and had a pet question. We really want to join DVC but aren't quite sure what to do with our 5 lb. yorkie. I know that there aren't any pet friendly places to stay in Disney, but am not sure about the kennels there. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

Spicey enjoys the WDW kennels - he seems to love to travel and we have a good time.

where are you thinking of buying - FW kennel is very close to OKW and it would be probably be good for SSR.

I like FW better because of the walking area - there is room for Spicey to explore and try to catch things - (he can't he is on a lease) - but his hunting is fun for him.

FW has very big cages and some small ones - you know what your dog would like best - the big ones are on the floor - the smaller ones are much higher.

some people don't like to walk their animals - I do - I also feed him myself - the CM's can do this if you want - but I like to know what he is eating - otherwise I would take him to the Vet. He always eats well at WDW.

they aren't allowed to take our your pet - so they can't really clean the cages unless you are there.

now Epcot kennel has gotten around that rule - they can walk the animals - so you only have to be there to walk him/her twice a day.

If you don't want to visit and walk your animals - don't take them - there are always some dogs that I feel sorry for - they are stuck in the cages all day because their owners won't come - they are generally pretty sad and howl alot.

okay this plus what I wrote on your post should be enough - if you want more information you can also email me.
