We are a family of five and are staying at OKW for the first time next April. We're arriving in the evening and will need a bite to eat. But I just took a look at Olivia's dinner menu, wowza! Very expensive for our family of five and not what I was hoping for. What should we do as we are checking in at about 7:00 pm and really want to stay put for the night. Is that fast food place open at that time? Any other thoughts?

Yes, Goods to Go will be open at that time. We checked in around then in April, and DH went with DD and DS to get food and met myself and other DD back at the room while we were getting the bags brought up. It did not take long.

You have some other places close by...

Take the trumbo ferry from OKW to DTD. You'll have several choices such as Earl of Sandwich, McDonalds, or RainForest Cafe.

Or...drive around the corner to Riverside Food Court. Many choices here.

I would also suggest DTD there are many food choices and plenty of places to window shop. Then you can get ice cream at Giradellis.

You could also have a pizza delivered. We always get Pappa Johns. There is also a pizza delivery service from Port Orleans ( they have leaflets in the room) but Pappa Johns is MUCH better and cheaper. The number is in the phone book. I think the branch is on Appopka Vineland Road

DTD is a good choice since everyone can "graze". A few sandwiches and nibbles along the way may be fine. There are restaurants such as Rainforest Cafe there but they are likely to cost as much or more than Olivia's would.

If you head over to the Crossroads Shopping Center they have an Olive Garden and TGIFriday's among others.

ok, thank you everyone, some great suggestions. :D

Also in DTD, try Wolfgang Puck's Express. My DD's love the food here. Nice selection and reasonable prices. They have seating both inside and out. This is in the Marketplace section, not the restaurant in the West Side.

We had the same reaction as you to the prices, especially when we got the bill eating at Olivia's. Took our 2 DS's for a final family trip (DS #1 graduated from college, and DS #2 is 21). For just the two of us, we always have our first night meal at Goods to Go, followed by a dessert drink at Gurgling Suitcase, fit around some pool time.

We arrived at OKW around 8:00pm in May, we were going to go to Uno's at Crossroads but there was a severe thunderstorm warning so we drove over to POFQ for pizza. We didn't get our groceries that night, so we went back to POFQ for breakfast the next morning. We went to TGI Friday's and Uno's at Crossroads during the week. We like to go to Olivia's for a late lunch/early dinner, they serve lunch until 5:00pm.
