OKW or SSR

I am thinking of a last min trip. I assume choices will be OKW and SSR. Maybe none, but my question is on size/stay and points per resort. If not I hope for a pin code/Ap disc at FQ.

Please sell me on one over the other.

I love SSR, it is my second fav resort, only 2nd to BC. I have never stayed at OKW, but it would be for 7-8 nights over Thanksgiving. There will be 3 in the room DH, DD6 and me. I was thinking maybe try OKW for size, and for less points, and for I never tried it. IDK if it is bigger enough to make a diff. Also I am not sure SSR is worth the extra 30 points or about 300$ (as I would be buying most of them).

Reasons I am in love with Artists Pallet, and am dying to see new pool. I love.. love .. love walking to DTD after a nice swim in the late afternoon.

Also due to I am splitting 3 diff resorts in Aug, as I made last min date changes, so this trip no splits. Also I will be at DTD a bit for dinners. I assume, although I love the DP, I will not get ressies anywhere. this late. We will not rent a car, and we will do a park pretty much every day. EP and MK are favs.

Given a choice I would go with OKW in a 1 BR or above. There is the lower points, the bigger rooms and there is also the boat to DTD. Some people walk during the day- I think it is about a mile. At OKW you have 2 beds in the studio size units where at SSR you have the queen bed and a pull out sofa which might make a difference for you. You are planning rather late for Thanksgiving so you may not have any choice or may have to consider a split stay between two resorts. You could pool hop to SSR if you end up at another resort and have a meal at Artist's Palette while there. I really don't think you could go wrong with eiter choice. Good luck

A lot will depend on what's available. We planned a last minute trip for August and surprisingly, OKW was booked up--only SSR was available the whole week. We DVCers who've been to OKW know what a good deal it is pointswise!

If you end up at OKW--you will really like the room. The floor plan really makes it feel like there is a lot of space between the living area and the bedroom--not so "on top of each other". The size of the laundry room is very nice. (If you are a person who does laundry on vacation--like me!) You can take the boat to DTD. The food service there is very small though.

I really don't think there is a significant difference in the ability to access DTD from either OKW or SSR. You can walk to DTD from either and you can take a boat from either.

For me it would depend on what size unit you are thinking of. If it's a 1 bedroom, hands down OKW. If it's a studio it depends on if your DD wants a real queen sized bed or a pull out full size sofa sleeper.

It would have to be a studio.. barring only 1 bedrm left. Sounds like I am going to try OKW. I will let you know thanks.

Size wise, an OKW 1BR has the same total sq.ft. As an SSR 2BR. So yes, its much bigger.

If you like longer walks (1mi+), you can walk from OKW to DTD West side (by Cirque) during the day (not lighted) from OKW as there is a path shared with the golf course.
