OKW OR SRS??

Hi we have been members since 2003 and we have never stayed at either resort. We have two boys, a 14yr old and a 16yr . That of course will not sleep in the same room as each other. The 14yr has no issue staying in the living room he always has.
Which do you recommend? And what would be your room selection as in location of the resort? Thank you so much. This is a big leap . I want something different. We have stayed at BLT,BWV,BCV,AKL,WLV and cabins.

I assume you will get a 2 BR for either. OKW has the extra sleep chair, which is said to be more comfortable than the sofa according to many posts and by my adult sons. You will have an extra 300-350 sq ft more space at OKW, a larger patio, large screen TVs as of the last refurb and a real washer/dryer. You may also have to deal with steps as most OKW units don't have elevators. SSR is an easy walk/boat ride to the Disney Springs shopping area. Both have multi stop bus routes. SSR also has a better 'fast food' area but OKW's Olivia's is IMHO better as a full service sit down eatery. Point usage is about the same if you get a standard view at SSR. We like OKW as we have been members there since 1993. Love the extra space, large patio and relaxing peace and quiet along with the views. SSR is due for a refurb and the resort is showing the ware and tear of the years since the last refurb. OKW is just about done with the current refurb so it's in great shape, at least for a few years. Can't really go wrong with either, but I would pick OKW any day over SSR for a 1 BR or larger.

A treehouse might works. The bunk beds are probably too small so your 14 yo would still be on the sofa bed but could at least use the bunk room for his stuff.

If not, I'd pick OKW over SSR.

I like SSR bc your kids can walk to Disney Springs by themselves.

Thank you! How long does it take to get to Disney Springs from OKW or SRS. We always stay at other resorts for convenience of walking distant etc. This will be used mostly to go over to Disney Springs. Tree House is too far for our liking

OKW. One or two bedroom. Ask for close to main lodge. The boat comes every 20 min to Disney Springs and takes about 15 min. Very easy.

The Treehouses are closer to DS than OKW. It'll be boats to DS from OKW. SSR would otherwise be the most convenient to DS but it's a nice boat ride from OKW (or even THV if you didn't want to walk). Convenience to DS it's SSR. Otherwise I'd choose OKW - the size of the villas and the atmosphere is very nice.
