OKW or BWV with first time guests?

BWV.

I'm sure OKW is a very nice resort. Maybe we'll even stay there some time. However, BWV is the Full Monty of a WDW experience. The incredible hotel, from it's lobby to the rooms, to the Boardwalk, the proximity to Epcot and MGM.....being able to walk out your door and be at a park in minutes, or take a boat there. All the dining options. Being able to see a good portion fot eh Illumonations fireworks from the Boardwalk, if not your room. You can't get much more of a Disney resort experience than being in the middle of everything as you are at the Epcot resorts.

I'd definitely go BWV.

First time visitors with children are commando visitors. Its hard to convince them not to be. Go with the accomodation with the best bus transportation to the Magic Kingdom.

Normally I'd say go with VWL but that's the equivalent of BWV preferred.

Hello there, J.D. here. VWL would be the choice at a DVC resort for newbies with kids so young. First things first, day one at the MK(without a bus) a ferry ride. Day two, quick access to the monorail from a DVC resort for the awesome ride to EPCOT. Day three change resorts to BCV(stormalong bay) and ferry ride to EPCOT/MGM. Day four, finally take a bus to AKP. I'm sure you'll have a great time no matter where you stay!!! ENJOY!!!J.D.

I agree with the other replies that OKW is the place to stay. One other point, if you have a car, you can park close to your room at OKW, which you cannot at BWV.

If your friends are going to a DVC resort for the first time they will be wowed at any resort....they all have wonderful theming you can't go wrong with either choice. If it were me I think I'd go with OKW for various reasons. Parking right outside your door with little ones is a plus, pools that are kid friendly, not overly crowded and easy to access, playgrounds at main pool and Turtle Pond area and larger rooms, homey feel and quiet environment. OKW is our home resort and BWV will be as soon as the resale closing goes through. We love both and our kids do too. If the adults are planning on doing the nightlife at the BW I'd stay there. Have fun planning your trip!!

I agree with Halle. They will love wherever they stay especially for the first time. We brought family 2 years ago to OKW because we could not get into BWV. It was Easter and did not book until 2 months out. We were on the wait list but it never came through so we decided it was a good time to try OKW. My family loved it from the time they walked into the door. Later that day we took them to BWV and showed them where we were trying to get into because we own there. They could not understand why we wanted to stay there over OKW. Of course they did not understand everything about each resort but it made us feel much better. Even came home and did an add-on to OKW.
