OKW or BCV - should we go for lowest price per point?

If you desire the Epcot resorts, then buy one over there. Very hard to get at certain times of year. I love Boardwalk view or Standard view (fewer points) at Boardwalk. Not to confuse your choice. I own at BCV and BWV's. Do not own at OKW. It is not hard to get at 7 months if I want to book it.

We have a BCV contract and do not regret buying it. We are hopeful that DVD will eventually offer an extension on the BCV contracts.

If money is no object, I would recommend BCV. You should be able to go to OKW whenever you like. BCV however is no gurantee unless you own there.

First of all, BCV and OKW are both beautiful resorts. You can't go wrong with either.

I would choose OKW for the later contract exp date and cheaper dues.

Do you have children? Even though BCV is our favorite resort and I would absolutely love to own there, we chose AKV for the later exp date. This enables us to some day transfer ownership to our children. We currently have 2 contracts - one for each child.

FWIW, we were able to book BCV 5 months out this year for our trip in May.

If you really don't care where you stay, buy at OKW and hope you can reservations at the other resorts for the dates you want. If however, you really prefer to stay at BCV because of it's location buy there.

I'm not sure if the experiences people have had in getting reservations at the 7 month mark can be considered a reason that you'll have no problems getting reservations for yourself at the 7 month mark. The economy might pick up and more reservations will be made and you might find yourself shut out. If you read these boards there are as many people that never get into BCV at 7 months as those that do. Also keep in mind that the popular times to travel at WDW for DVC members is the not same as cash guests. October and December are prime times for DVC, but if you look at the point charts, early December is considered a slow time.

I still recommend that you buy where you want to stay. And if possible by resale if the total cost is cheaper than buying through Disney direct.
