Hello:

In the one bedroom units at old key west is the pull out couch comfortable for adults?

Thanks,

Deb.

I don't find any pull out sofa comfortable myself. I know my DD's will take turns using the pull out so they only have to sleep on it every other night at the resorts with a sofa and bed in the second bedroom, or studio.

OKW does offer two beds in the studios, so depending on your situation you may be more comfortable in two studios vs a one bedroom.

Hi: Thanks I never thought of two studios, I guess we could even do one studio. I love the idea of somewhere to sit outside our room when we are there, as we are not commando because of my daughter's severe migraine problem. She usually gets a migraine a couple of hours into a park, then has to go lay in a dark room, even with gravol taken ahead to ward of the dizzy triggers.

There are only three of us this trip, but the two studios would work when 4 of us travel for sure. We are torn between two rooms at riverside (been to and love it) or key west (which we have never been to but would like to try, but looks so pretty with foliage)

We are already doing a split between either riverside, old key west at the beginning then a couple of days at the poly just to enjoy the resort at the end of our trip.

Thanks,

Deb.

Two studios at OKW will give you 4 queen sized beds, NOT a bed and a sofa. A 1 bedroom at OKW will have a king bed in the master bedroom and a queen size pull out sofa in the living room that is the new memory foam type....VERY comfy! No bar in the back!

Good to know....
staying at OKW in april for the 1st time....that sofabed will be
used....glad it is the new type.

Is WLV the only DVC left with the old beds?
thanks

We just got back last night from OKW in a 1 bedroom - my girls, ages 7 and 9, slept on the pullout. I laid down on it one day and it seemed like an old fashioned, nasty mattress to me!! I thought it was horribly uncomfortable. We were in building 31 - maybe not all have been upgraded?

You might have gotten one that had not been upgraded. Did it pull out like a regular old style sofa bed? If so, you had the old kind. The new ones can be a bit of a puzzle at first, but they are very comfy.

We stayed in bldg 40 at OKW after T'giving and definitely had the old kind of pull out sofa, it was nothing like the ones at SSR. Our dd10 and dd6 both complained that the pull-out was uncomfortable at OKW but they liked the one at SSR.

We've stayed at OKW three times now, and each time it was the old bar in the middle of the back sofa. Not the new kind!

I will qualify this...I can sleep anywhere, but my back will bother me at times. In the last couple of years, I have slept on pullouts at both OKW and BWV and have found them to be comfy. Would I have rather been in the king in the master? Sure! But, for a few nights, it was just fine and didn't bother my back at all.

Interesting! Our last 5 trips have all had the new ones.

I slept on the sofa for 7 nights at the end of December in Building 23. The sofa was not as comfortable as the one I slept on at SSR, but it was way more comfortable than any of the traditional sofa beds. It did not have a bar in the back and folded out a bit different than a traditional sofa bed. I really found it just fine to sleep on.

We were in building 27 last week and had one of the new pull out kinds, similar to the one we had in SSR in Sept.
No one slept on the pullout. The bad part about the sofa was the couch itself. The cushions on our sofa were horrible. You couldn't even sit on the couch because the cushions were angled toward the front. We had to pull off the back cushions to even sit on it. Believe me, we're pretty laid back about things, but this was the most uncomfortable couch I have ever sat on.

Are the new pull outs the same color and design? Does anyone have a picture?

Yes, we have that problem with the new ones too. It's like the cushions are too high for the sofabed part.
