okw music

hello there,
for the times i have been to okw i always remember the tropical music that they have playing around the pool and through out the resort....like jimmy buffett, and all those songs....i heard recently that they have changed it....if anyone has heard or noticed the change could ya let me know...that music completed the okw atmosphere for me...thanks

I saw that post here too back in the summer time but was there Labor Day and Jimmy was definitely playing.

We were there in late September and Jimmy was definitely not playing. It was big band type music and I really missed the old music. Hope they change it back soon!

We were there last week & it was definitely Big Band music. In the Mood & songs like that.

I plan to visit OKW when I'm at WDW next week. That's definitely something I'll listen for. I might even ask about the music change. DS #2 plays in a Big Band and has solo-ed in "In the Mood" so he'd love to hear that kind of music. I'll post after I get back what I learned.

I was there in October and it was music from the thirties and forties (big band, etc.) I never liked the old music, so I am glad they switched.

Yep--Big Band when we were there too!! I like Big Band music but far preferred the Jimmy Buffet sound at OKW. It seemed more appropriate to the atmosphere of OKW.

We will be arriving on 12/01 and always look forward to music like J. Buffett's. I wonder why the change? As stated before, his music is a perfect fit for the type of atmosphere that surrounds this resort.

I am finding more and more DVC'ers in the Western NY area. Maybe sometime a meeting could be set up and we could include our neighbors to the east (Rochester).

Walter - what a small world.

We actually rented points but.................... we got home & last night put an offer in on a resale property at OKW. We are awaiting a phone call this morning.

We had considered becoming members numerous times, but my DH was very skeptical. When he saw OKW & the size of the accommodations he was sold instantly. He doesn't like to vacation in just a hotel room. We had a 2BR & he loved it. He said he was never that comfortable on vacation. Plus OKW is so quiet & such a relaxing atmosphere.

Hopefully everything will go good & we'll be getting our welcome packet soon!!
