Hi,

We are heading down to OKW 4/28--I had planned to send a package in advance with some kitchen/bathroom supplies, but heard that resorts are now charging a fee for receiving guest packages. Is this true? Has anyone sent a package down in advance of check-in over the last few weeks? What was your experience?

Thanks!

Have a wonderful day!

People on the Disney boards on AOL have stated they have been charge $40 for up to 100 lbs. when getting deliveries from NetGrocer. No one has mentioned any charges when it was a personal package yet. :(

I sent myself a package of non-perishables at OKW this February (President's Week). There was no charge. CM's at OKW guest relations told me that DVC members are never charged for packages.

Maybe those other people weren't DVC members?

we sent a package of things down to OKW last Christmas and it was delivered to our room..no charge

From what I've read on all the boards, there is a 40 dollar charge now - but NOT for DVC members... thank goodness, because we always get Netgrocer to deliver!!! Just another reason we like DVC!!

You could always use the "General Delivery" service offered by US Postal Service. ;) Just address the package to yourself with "attention general Delivery" under your name instead of an address, and use the zip code of a post office local to WDW. You just show up with ID and pick up the package. They will hold it 10 days I think. You can also call the local post office and advise them that a general delivery package will be coming in your name. This service is designed for just such occassions when people are traveling and need mail service, or when new neighborhoods are built and mailboxes aren't up yet........
