OKW Lovers Thread. Part 2

Considering taking our 6 year old for a trip to WDW in late June and staying in a studio at OKW. Please give me the good and the bad!
The good...all OKW studios have 2 real queen beds...athere are 5 bus stops at OKW, so you're never far from a bus stop. The ice machines for the studios are located at the bus stops, BTW. There is a laundry room near each of the 4 pools,
The bad, you may have some noise from the neighbors, as all studios are lock-offs and have a connecting door to the one bedroom...and only 3 buildings have elevators, so you may be in a 3rd floor walk up.

Thanks Chuck. This doesn’t sound too bad at all!

Also, if you are far away from the hospitality area, and want to take the boat to Disney Springs or go to the restaurant, you can hop on any park bus. Hospitality is the last stop before the bus heads to the parks. To return to your room, walk across the bridge from hospitality to the Peninsular Road bus stop and again, hop on any bus. Peninsular Road is the first stop for busses returning from the parks.

Minor, but important clarification here.

The above is true for PARK buses, but not for Disney Springs buses.

The DS bus stops at HH first when arriving at the resort, and then makes the loop. Meaning, if you get on a DS bus at one of the non-HH stops, it will NOT take you to HH (it's already been there). And if you're at HH and wanting to go to another stop, you CAN get on a DS bus from HH to get to the other areas of the resort.

It's a bit confusing at first, but makes logistical sense.

We were able to book a regular studio. Weren’t able to get HH reservations but would like to be close enough to walk to HH. Any suggestions on what buildings to request? We are all able to use the stairs so elevators/floors don’t matter.

Instead of specifying building numbers, simply request close to HH. That tells the room assigner what is important to you and gives them the best flexibility to meet your request

Building 15 or 16, 27, 28 or 29 would be the closest. The elevator bui;ldings 62, 63 and 64, are also close, but are often used for people with mobility issues that don't require a full handicap modified unit, or who have booked multiple units along with a handicap GV, as there are only 3 GVs that are handi accessible, and 2 of them are in building 63.

Thanks Chuck. What about 17-19? About how far away are they?

17 to 19 are also fairly close to Hospitality, as they are before the the bend on Miller's Road to builing 20 to 22, they will be closer to the Miller Road quiet pool than to the main pool.

How far would you say a moderate walk would be? 5 minutes?

ABout 5 to 7 minutes, probably. The farthest building from Hospitality is Building 50, at the end of South Point rd, and that is roughtly 2/3 to 3/4 of the walk around the World Showcase Promenade at Epcot
