Hi there....looking at a mid-late July stay and due to the amount of points we have to use would be booking a studio.

Due to locations I would prefer Wilderness Lodge or Boardwalk, but due to the 7 month window and popularily might not get either.

According to DVC I would have no problem getting OKW. We have stayed here once before in a Grand Villa for a family reunion and had no problems but just due to the location and size of the resort it isn't my first choice.

Any opinions on OKW.....what are my chances of getting either WL or BWV studios at 7 months windows?

Thanks!

You just might get BW or WL at 7 months, but IMO, it would be a good idea to go ahead and book the dates you need at OKW, and waitlist for BW and WL. This way, you'll ensure that you have your vacation! :thumbsup2

I agree. We love OKW, but the studios there have 2 queen beds instead of a couch and 1 queen bed. That configuration is not everyone's favorite and can get a little "old" on a longer stay. Beyond that, OKW is a great resort. But if location is important to you, cover all the bases to increase your chances of getting your first choices.

I also agree with the "book your home at 11 months and switch at 7 months" strategy.

Personally, I don't think you'll have a hard time getting VWL or BWV at 7 months for that time of the year. Especially BWV, though you probably will get Preferred View - Garden/Water as the room classification.

If you don't get them at 7 months, you should waitlist and that should have an excellent chance of coming through for you.

We havestayed at OKW our last 2 visits and the 2 queen beds is a plus! The thought of me or my Mother in law sleeping on a sofa bed for a week scares me!I've been happy with staying there!

If you weren't wild about Old Key West in a Grand Villa, you'll be miserable there in a studio. I say this as a person who is extremely fond of Old Key West. Save yourself the grief.
