As I understand it OKW has outdoor walkways/"halls" to the rooms. Does this mean that all rooms face one direction? I am thinking that it does but just want to clarify.

And if that is the case then are all rooms either facing golf course or water views or are there some buildings that face a road or something less desireable? I wouldn't think they would have faced a building towards the parking lot with the type of layout I believe they have. I'm trying to decide if I should bother putting in a view request or just completely go with the flow. :)

We have a dedicated 2 bedroom reserved if that makes any difference.

All OKW views would be either water or golf course, or possibly woods.

However, the vegetation has grown considerably since the resort opened 16 years ago, and some views now are fairly hidden behind trees or shrubs. generally the higher up you are (top floor) the better the view.

In no case is your 'view' ever a parking lot or roadway. Parking is in front of all the buildings. The views are out the back of the buildings.

We've always had beautiful views at OKW, esp. on 2nd floor. However, we just went in May/June and had a one bedroom on Turtle Pond Rd. When we checked in and chose our room (had a few to choose from), we picked a 2nd floor golf/water view (by the map) in I think building 32 (when you turn onto Turtle Pond rd coming from the entrance, it's the first building on the right). We got into our room and I raced onto the patio to take in my beloved OKW views, and I immediately turned around and told my family to 'get out, we're moving'. From looking to the side off of our patio, you could actually see Turtle Pond Rd and the buses and cars going by - this was not the private, peaceful view I was used to and had no plans to sit out in the morning and enjoy my tea to the sights and sounds of traffic. I called front desk, told her I was not happy with our view, and could I have a different one we had been offered - Building 35 across the Road, first floor center of the building. Not a problem - went up front and got new room keys, walked into the unit and outside - perfect! View of the pond/fountain, and a golf tee across the water - ducks came running as soon as they heard the door open and I knew I was home!
So not all views are the same or as pleasant to everyone in the same way. Just know that if you're not happy with your room, call right away and they will accommodate you. There are more beautiful views than not, so you'll likely have no problem. Water views are my favourite because we love to feed the ducks our extra bread and buns during our vacation.
Enjoy OKW - it's our favourite!:goodvibes

Have to disagree in that we had a studio in building in the South Point area . that was on the end of the building. The view fromm the balcony was the road an sidewalk and from the window the parking lot and bus stop. We didn't care but there are some who would. We had a split stay that trip and when we came back from the west coast we got a second floor two bedroom in building 55- there is no view better than that for us. Everyone should understand that sometimes you get luckier than others.

That's correct. The OP mentioned they had a 2-B/R villa and I was responding to the views one would get from the main patio/balcony located off the Living Room area.

The studios are designed as the 2nd B/R, and if one were to get that room as a studio only, if it is on the end of the building, it's possible the view could be as you describe.

To my knowledge, none of the views from the main patio/balcony, that's located off of the living room, have anything other than water/golf/woods views.

Thanks everyone for the information on the layouts and views!!! We're looking forward to staying at what everyone describes as a beautiful resort. :goodvibes
