OKW; Kidani or SS?

I'd choose OKW because I really enjoyed staying there. It is spread out but I still loved it.

I've never stayed at SSR but that would be choice #2 because we toured there (bought at BCV though) and I liked the looks of it plus the location to DTD would be fun for you all. (of course OKW is right down the street).

And AKV isn't even on my radar because I stayed there last year and just wouldn't go back. It is beautiful, love the food and experiences there--Africa is a dream of mine. The resort just wasn't for me but most people love it and I'm sure an 8yo would love it.

If I was to choose Saratoga, which section should I try and request?? Leaning towards this bc we have never stayed here, we will have a car and my son loves popping in and out of Disney Quest

Then I would ask for Congress Park, its the closest to Downtown Disney, has some really nice views and great pool.

The rooms have been redone also.

I would vote for Kidani. We just stayed there in January and absolutely loved the view of the animals from our balcony. We regularly saw giraffes and zebras and some type of cattle, ostriches...My girls were 11, 8 and 5 at the time and they very much enjoyed the resort.

I should mention though that I have only spent one night at Saratoga--it was nice, but nothing special in my opinion and I have never stayed at Old Key West although we did a DVC tour there once and I was impressed with the size of the accomodations.

On our next trip I am hoping to resort hop and stay a couple of nights at Kidani--to fully enjoy the resort--we feel like we missed a lot of resort activities, and a few nights at BLT and OKW as we have never stayed at either of them.

I think that you will enjoy wherever you end up--after all, you'll be on vacation and at Disney!

Due to lack of availability I am stuck choosing from only these 3 resorts...which one would you choose and why?? Thanks!

We just got back from a 4 day stay in a 2 bedroom at SS and a 7 day in a studio at OKW. We didn't really explore SS so I can't really comment on anything but the room, which was really nice, but the resort is very spread out. However we will probably never stay at OKW again. The studios are very spacious, but the noise control is horrible. Since all of the studios are connected to another room, we had some one that came in at about 11:00 at night, trying to open the door to our room. They were screaming and arguing all night and it was so loud it sounded like they were in our living room. We ended up having to change rooms in the middle of our stay. You don't even get a full size ironing board. It is a little table top one. There is no quick service for breakfast, only table service, which was a BIG drawback. The community hall is basically null compared to other resorts. The pool layout was not very parent friendly and it was one of the smallest pools of any of the resorts we have stayed at. Over all we were very disappointed. AK, in my opinion, is hands down the one I would choose. We own at BLT and stay at AK more than any other resort. Sure it is further away from the parks, but it is one of the nicest resorts there. :thumbsup2

I will say that SSR has the best layout as the foyer separates the entrance to each room. I personally would rather stay in a hotel room than a studio and would certainly be disappointed going from a 2 bedroom to a studio at any resort.

AS to breakfast at OKW, Goods to Go has breakfast. Here is the menu. http://allears.net/menu/menu_gtgb.htm

My opinions based on just a few stays. I would go with OKW for sure but it's my favorite :goodvibes
AKV pros: great views of the savannah, 2 fantastic pools, the rooms are very very nice.
AKV cons: parking is not convenient (even in the garage under Kidani...often the spots near your room are taken and you park where you can and it can be FAR), Kidani is huge and depending on where your room is it can be a long walk to the bus stop, lobby, pool. Don't get halfway somewhere and realize you forgot something important....

OKW pros: huge rooms, cheap points, great pool and HH area, boat to DTD is fun, park right outside your room, we love the overall atmosphere of the place
OKW cons: it is really big and without a car it could be far to walk or inconvenient to take a bus to the HH or main pool.

We haven't stayed at SSR yet but I really want to. It's a beautiful resort, the main pool is great and I would love to try the new Paddock pool too. I also love how close to DTD it is. But the higher points per night keep bringing me back to OKW for my future planning....

All three are fabulous resorts and you really can't go wrong!
