OKW in May 2003?

I know I have to call MS tomorrow to get the straight scoop, but has anyone recently booked OKW during the 1st 2 weeks of May (this May) to know availability of studios or 1 BR? We're thinking of a last minute trip to use some points that are burning a hole in my account. And to see the EPCOT flower and garden festival. What are my chances of getting a ressie with this short notice?

I think your chances are excellent. This time of year is not busy at OKW, I've stayed there the past 3 years in May. I currently have a 1 bedroom reserved on points for May 11 to 16, with May 9 & 10 on a member discount. I booked this at 7 months last October, but I called about a month ago to add the 2 nights with cash. I checked about 6 weeks ago for the last week of April and it was open (we were thinking of switching). I just checked disney.com and studios, 1 bedrooms & 2 bedrooms are available for cash the entire month (doesn't mean there will be points rooms though). Good Luck!

I called this past week and was told that there were 1 bedrooms available for the first week in May at both OKW and BWV.

a studio checking in on 5/11 for 5 nights. This reservation was made during the first week of March. FYI, they didn't have any availalbe for BWV or BCV. It's probably due to the proximity to EPCOT during the Flower and Garden Festival.

I also was able to book 5/10-5/18 in a 1bdroom. No problem. Can't wait to get their.

My brother just booked a 1BR for Memorial Day weekend today(fri,sat,sun.mon) and said 1BR's and 2BR's were both still available.

Thanks for all of your replies - an update from today...

I called MS and got right through this morning. There were no 1 BR available for my dates (first week of May), but there were about 2 studios and 7-8 2 BR. The only size that was available for all 4 nights that I wanted was a 2 BR. I booked a studio for Sat night to save points and then the 2 BR for the remaining nights. Overkill for 2 of us, but I was just happy to get a DVC room on such short notice. (no complaints about too many people for the size of the unit - lol!)

I was told that BWV, BCV and WLV were completely sold out for those dates. I asked to be waitlisted for a 1 BR and headed off to work. To my great surprise, MS called me midday today and I got a 1 BR for all 4 nights - within 4 hours of the original reservation!! I'm very happy to have the room I wanted this close to leaving!!

Just thought others might like to know what actually happened. You can (sometimes) get lucky with very short notice and the waitlist works!
