OKW in 10 days

We will be arriving at OKW in 10 days. Can't wait since this is our first visit to disney. We are a family of 5 with DD7, DS5 and DD2. We would like to stay close to the HH for convenience purposes and to be close to the main themed pool. How do I go about requesting this? It was requested when the reservations were made but is there anyway to assure that this happens? We won't even be arriving to OKW until probably around 5 pm. so this worries me that it will be too late to get our request. Also, what building is closest to the HH? I have been planning this trip since last year and can't believe its finally here. The best part is that it is a surprise to the kids. They think we are going to NYC since we fly there first on JetBlue. So exciting!!!

Welcome home - and enjoy your first trip! If I remember correctly we were in room 3520 last year when we stayed there (our first time at OKW). It was a few minutes walk to the main house. Not bad. One thing is that there are bus stops all over the grounds picking up and dropping off to and from not only other parks, but the main area as well. There are also pools in each building area, so it's never far to get to a pool (like a block or less). Also - you will love the size of the rooms - they're huge. Each unit has a patio with a ceiling fan and an outdoor table that seats four, as well as a kitchen table! Place is gorgeous. Enjoy it - it's a great place for those non park days.

You've done the right thing by making your request part of your reservation. It may help to call OKW to speak with the Room Controller a few days prior to your arrival to confirm your request.

Don't be disappointed if you don't get the exact location you requested. OKW is a wonderful resort! All locations have their own good points. You're going to have a wonderful time!!

There are many buildings within an easy walk to the HH area. Bldgs 11 to 14 are the closest, then the 60's bldgs. Bldgs 23 to 26 are just across the bridge, and also a very convenient area. 23 to 26 also have the advantage of being near the Peninsular Road bus stop, the first stop on the resort route.

I agree, a GREAT surprise!!! If you have requested near HH at the time of your reservation, and made no other requests, you should be fine. Here is a map of OKW.

As you can see, buildings 11, 12, 13, 14, 62, and 63 are right across the street from HH. Buildings 16, 64, 15 and 23 are easy access as well. That is quite a few to choose from. If you notice all the bus stops, that is another way to easily get to the HH. ALL buses that go to any of the parks etc from OKW stop at HH last before exiting the resort, so you can hop on any bus to get you there quickly. You will also notice there are 4 pools at OKW. The neighborhood pool in the Turtle Pond area is a very popular one with families as well as the main pool where the castle slide is located. All the neighborhood pools have hot tubs and small playgrounds attached to them.

jksky4: We'll be arriving at OKW in 10 days as well! We are also a family of 5, but my kids are a bit older than yours: 16, 14 and 10. You will love OKW...I know we like if for the lower-key atmosphere and it's wonderful for the days away from the parks. I hope the weather warms up a bit!
