So because I wasn't planning on staying at this resort for a while I haven't really researched it ;). Anyone have any tips? Any section in particular I should ask for? How are the restaurants and pool? Is there a food court/quick service restaurant? How about a community hall?

Any ideas, thoughts, tips, pictures etc. are greatly appreciated!

We stay at OKW everytime we go down now that were members.
We love it there. We always stay at the rooms in the back of the resort since the rooms are a bit bigger .. The furtest from the Hosp house it about a 5 min walk. We never have issues with the buses or pools being full or over crowded. There is mainly only one fast food stand with your basic hot dogs, burgers, nuggets, salad etc. It's called Foods to Go" There is a full service bar beside it. Olivia's is there sit down resturant. We've only eatin there two times. They food was good. Along with those there is the store for some groceries and souviners. In the back is also Turtle Pond pool. There is a small snack bar there with some bottled drinks (beer also). I've never been there were I felt crowded. In fact I don't see many people there even when they say they are at full capacity. It's very quite. I have a 14yr DS, 7yr DS & a 3 yr DS. Al love the community Hall which was recently renovated along with their wokout room. They have pool parties frequently with games, music and prizes and my kids love it. If you go to www.allears.net go to accomidations and choose OKW they have alot of pics posted.

I love OKW, but in my own opinion, the snack bar has always been lacking as far as offerings. But, we take the boat to DtD to Earl of Sandwich instead :)

The full service restaurant, Olivia's, is usually very good, but like all Disney restaurants, it can have bad days.

The pools (3 quiet and one main pool) are all very nice. We really prefer to be away from the Hospitality/Main pool area, in the quieter Turtle Pond Road or South Point areas.

We were just there in Dec. It is a really nice resort. Our plane was delayed on our arrival day, so we didn't end up getting in as early as we hoped and grabbed dinner from the QS at OKW. We had burgers. We were on the dining plan and honestly, I wouldn't waste a QS credit on it unless you were in a situation like ours. Like PP said, I would go to DTD. Earl of Sandwich is good and WPE is super too! Our friends ate at Olivia's and they liked it.

We ended up in building 62. It is an elevator bldg, which was nice b/c w/ our friends, we were travelling w/ 4 kids. I thought this building was perfect. We were right across from the HH and could get off at the first bus stop on our way back from the parks, which was a big plus w/ tired kids.

I walked the entire resort and didn't think any of the buildings were an unmanageable walk from the HH, but take a look at a resort map before requesting anything b/c some of the areas are a further walk from a bus stop than others.

Have fun and enjoy OKW. It is a great resort!

My biggest suggestion when staying at OKW is to make sure your room isn't too close to the road on the bus route. Our first year we thought we were being smart by asking to stay really close to the bus stop. Great. But our room was right on the street, and listening to those buses come and go all day and late into the night was aweful. And we're city people!!! I was surprised that it bothered me so much.

Last year we requested a room far, far away from the bus route and it really made our stay so much more pleasant. Totally worth a little stroll from the room to the bus stop.
