OKW GV for September, not home resort

We have a family reunion coming up next Sept or Oct 2008.
We thought that a GV at OKW would be great.
Has anyone had luck booking here at that time of year at 7 months out?

You might have an issue getting an OKW GV at 7 months out. Our home resort is OKW and we called for a GV for Oct 17 to 22nd at 11 months and had to wait list for 1 night. That night did come through quickly though. The GVs go very fast and are limited in number. Still, try it, you may make it.

Thanks. I was thinking of trying to talk my guests into the GV, but if it looks like we don't have much of a chance, I probably won't try to. I will book at my home resort (VWL) at 11 months (not necessary at that time of year, but you never know). But I don't think my guests want to stay there (can you imagine?? ).

I guess I figured that September might not be too bad.

September will be your best chance as long as you do it BEFORE the F&W festival starts. Once you get to that last wee, of September and all the way through the F&W, it will be difficult at all DVC resorts.

We booked for Sept 16-22 for and OKW GV at 7 months out.
Absolutely no problem....no waitlist...no calling day by day.
I will admit...I had a 2BR and Studio booked at my home resort just in case.

I would of liked a GV at SSR or AKV, but OKW GV is such a great value and so much space. I am counting the days!
