We're staying in a GV for the first time in September. Is the island in the kitchen that houses the TV in the smaller units used for storage in a GV? TIA

TV is in a hutch in the living room, the dining room is between the living room and the kitchen. There is an island which is for storage.

Anyone have any pictures of an OKW GV?

Thanks!

There is plenty of storage in the OKW GV kitchen, but there is one thing about it that bothers me. They have the sink jamed up against the corner at a right angle to the stove. It's very difficult for two people to work in there at the same time. When we have had large groups, we tend to have more than one person in the kitchen at a time. It was impossible for one person to be cooking on the stove while another was trying to wash up things in the sink. We felt like the island stored a whole pantry full of food though! It's also nice to have the extra table and chairs in the living room as well.

Thanks much. We'll only have 8, rather than 12, but even so, there's a lot to take for a week-long stay. When I looked at the layout, the kitchen didn't look a lot larger than the 1- and 2-bedroom units, so I was hoping the island was storage. It also looks like there might be room in the adjacent laundry room for cases of pop and water ....

Yes, and that is exactly where we put that stuff too! Our next GV stay is in January, but we will only have 6 people, so we'll be able to spread out.

Holy Moly - 6 people in a GV! Everyone can practically have a room to him/herself! How nice.

We'll be staying in a GV for the first time in January-- 3 couples and my mom. She is 76 and in good health but not exactly spry. I'm trying to think whether it would be better for her to take the front room sofa and not have to deal with the stairs or have her own room with adjoining bath and let one of the young couples take the living room. (I don't think I can talk my husband into us taking the couch since he is the one who has slaved for years to be able to afford this trip for everyone!)

Thanks for all the info on the storage situation. We plan on doing a major shop before we arrive. This will also be our first trip to get an Owner's Locker so we will be bringing all the things we plan on leaving in Orlando for future stays.

If she's fit enough to climb the stairs to her room, I'd give Mom a real bed in a bedroom. Oh, and since it's your points...you get the master. That's how it works! Our next GV stay in January is with pooled points. Some of ours, and some from one of the other couples staying with us. That's why we are going to draw straws for the master.
