OKW Grand Villa

My extended family, from up and down the east coast, is planning a get together for the week after Thanksgiving 2007 and we're looking at our options.

We own at two resorts so we don't often have to wait until our 7-month window to reserve a room.

Based on your experience, what do you think the chances are that we would be able to book a Grand Villa at OKW seven months out (for the week after Thanksgiving, 11/25-12/2)?

Sorry I can't answer your question, but I have a similar question: Anyone know exactly how many Grand Villas OKW has? What are chances of booking one 7 months out for NJ week next November?

I'd bet it would not be good. Those points are low and lots of DVC members who own at OKW like to head down at that time.

You're going to need lots of pixie dust, because I'm going to be one of those on the phone at 9 AM EST exactly 11 months out calling day by day for a GV that week too!

OKW has 27 GVs and they are in high demand from Thanksgiving thru early December (as well as many other times of the year). However, you'll never know about availability until you call.

You might consider having an OKW owner make the reservation for you at 11 months or have OKW points transferred into your account to make it yourself.

You and I just might be able to work something out. OKW is my home resort and we are thinking of travelling right around that same time frame, but my husband thinks he would like to try a different resort. PM me and maybe we could "rent" from each other or something if you are interested.

I would book the GV at your home resort. Too many OKW members go at that time. Once you have them at your home resort you can try and change your reservation to OKW at the 7 month mark.

Based on the above, my DP and I have pretty much decided to go with a 2-bedroom and a studio at BVC for that week.
