OKW for $100?

In another post I read about a rate for OKW of $100/night. Is this a normal rate and if so, where can I find it?

Here's our story. We're going on dd's wish trip April 29 - May 5th. We're staying at GKTW those days. Then we're going down to Clearwater for a couple of days before heading back up to WDW for a couple of days before heading back. So from May 5 to 9, we're on our own. I had planned to stay at Pop for the two nights at the end of the trip, saving one day of the hopper we'll get to use at MK on that Monday before we leave on Tuesday. But if I can get a room at OKW with a kitchenette for the same rate as POP, I'd do that in a heartbeat.

You can get OKW for $100.00 per night if you rent points from a DVC member. The point values for a studio (Su-Th) is 10 points. At $10 per point (going rate) it equals to $100.00

The problem is that you need to find someone who will check availability and sell you the points for the days you need. If you are staying over a weekend or want a one bedroom the rate is significantly higher (more than double)

Check the DVC trade board on this site, you may find someone who will rent out points to you. OKW studios are nice and spacious and the resort is beautiful! Hope you're able to find someone so that you can stay there!

The thelionqueen is correct. For your dates, an OKW studio (2 queen beds, small balcony and kitchenette) would be 11 points each for the nights of 4/29 & 4/30. For May 1-5, the points are 10 per night. Most DVC Members rent for $10/point but you can occasionally find some for $9/point (usually from those with points that are due to expire soon). The other DVC resorts will rent for a bit more per night.

We did this once and had a great time. It was $99 a night with no additional fees. You do need to remember that there is no maid service with this though. That isn't a big deal to us, but it could be to some.

Each room had a small microwave, small fridge and a coffee maker.

My original post was probably confusing about dates. We will be back in Orlando on May 7-9. Just in case that makes any difference in rates. I am heading to church now so I'll look into this more tonight after kiddos are in bed.

I think I read your post too quickly !
For the above dates, an OKW studio would be 10 points per night for Sun thru Thurs nights. Fri and Sat the points jump up to 24 points per night, but you wouldn't be staying over a weekend anyway. So for you, it would be 10 points if you can find someone on the DVC rent board. I have a feeling something would come through for you. Good luck !
