OKW extension?

I found a small resale contract for OKW for $70 per point. It has not been extended! If I bought that how much does it cost to extend the contract? Is it so much per point?

I think it is currently $20 per point, full price is $25 per point.

I see a couple of resale contracts that I like right now.

One is a SSR the other is a OKW, non-extended. Roughly the same price per point. Which would you recommend? The point chart at OKW is nice, but the length of SSR is nice! I think SSR will win out!

I would purchase where I would be happiest staying. They are both lovely resorts, each with positives and negatives. OKW rooms are larger than any other DVC resort. SSR has more "upscale" room furnishings.

OKW studios have 2 queen beds, SSR studios have one queen bed and a full sleeper sofa.

If the SSR contract is the same per point as the OKW non-extended, I'd probably go for the SSR contract.

I really just want a small contract to start! Then I want to be able to add on at my own pace. I want small contracts, 25-100 points each. That way if I ever need to sell, I can do it easier. I would like to get about 70 points for VGC for a every 3 year trip! And get some AKL points and possibly some BLT points and just alternate where we stay!

They gavo OKW owners a discounted price of $15 to extend the contract prior to a specific deadline. Then they went up to $20 (which I assume is the current price?) which is also discounted from the full board approved price of $25. I am assuming that we will be able to extend the contracts without discounts for quite some time, at least up to the time that they begin subsidizing the dues (to account for the reserve funds after the original 2042 end date) for those of us that did not extend. Talk to your guide to extend your resale contract after closing.

Add ons through DVC will be far more expensive. If you know you want more and can afford it, you're likely better buying now resale for lower demand places. That approach makes more sense for the higher demand resorts. Otherwise I'd likely save money and buy later.

I've seen the extended contract for not much more than $70/pp so I would buy one of those instead of a non-extended one for the same price point.

I think to get one though you'll need to leave your requirements with the TSS and they can call you if one comes through that matches before the contract hits the public listing.
