I was with my DCG as they enjoyed an hour there, DGS playing video games and watching TV, and DGD making some sun catchers, picture frames and more. Everyone enjoyed it, but there was more to come! DDiL, DS brought the kids there yesterday and 2 of them made & stuffed very nice throw pillows, girls made holiday bracelets and more! The consensus was "This is the best CC ever!" Our kids have used them all now!

This was our first "all family" OKW stay, and it's been very enjoyable. They are home already, we leave in a few hours.

We love OKW kids' areas the best. It just feels so homey. My little guy got to make a cupcake all by himself since he was the only one in there!!! I think it is one of DVC's quiet little secrets.

And we have stayed in all the DVC rooms at this point, with the exception of Bay Lake, and must say time and time again that OKW is the best.

So glad you liked our "home", Bobbie! OKW is the one that truly feels like home to us, and we are glad that most of our points are there. Even when I have to do my own cleaning to make up for housekeeping issues, you still can't beat the layout of the units or the "feel" of the resort!:thumbsup2

We enjoyed the community center at OKW as well. We had an extended family trip (15 people) back in June. We had a birthday breakfast at Olivia's at 10am on our checkout day but our DME pickup wasn't until 1pm. Although it was hot, none of the parents wanted to go through the rigamarole of allowing the kids to swim for a while, change, and repack in time for the bus. So we all headed into the community center. The older kids (7-10 years old) played video games while the younger ones (4-6 years old) colored and did crafts. The baby just got passed around between Granny and the aunts! The grown-up boys played billiards (in between runs to the Gurgling Suitcase:laughing:) and the ladies supervised the kids. Around 12:30, Grandma pulled out the cupcakes she'd made the day before and the CM's at the community center provided candles and matches and joined us in singing happy birthday to the two girls who had their birthdays that day. It was a perfect way to pass the time waiting for the DME bus and it kept everyone clean and cool. We haven't spent too much time in any other community halls, but I will say that the location at OKW was perfect for our needs. I don't know of any other community hall that is located so close to the DME pickup site, but I will definitely look into it for our future trips.
