Can anyone tell me if the cabinets have safety locks? I have a toddler who loves to pull everything out of the cabinets that he can get a hold of!!!

Nope, none of the DVC villas do. Besides, us old folks at OKW couldn't open those durned things if they had them. They don't call us the retirement village for nothing, you know.

LOL, Right, Deb! Frankly, I don't ever recall seeing them at any hotel or timeshare. I guess I would just make sure he has his own toys to play with so the pots and pans aren't so intriguing.

For a toddler nothing is more intriguing as what's off limits! But thanks so much for the reply. I don't imagine we'll be hanging around the villa much anyway! Would anyone have a picture or be able to explain what the door/handles are like. I'm wondering if they might be side to side ones that I can bring temporary locks for?

The OKW cabinets have round knobs and when there are 2 cabinest side by side, yes the knobs are right next to each other. But there are single cabinets near the stove that do not have another knob to lock onto.
I do not know much about kitchen cabinet locks to child proof, since they were not around when our kids were little. Electrical outlet plugs and baby gates were about as good as you got in the stone age! LOL!
Seriously though, our kids have been staying in WDW resorts since before they could walk, including a large number of DVC resorts and home away from home resorts, and we never had a problem. We always spend a lot of time at the resort but are always out a good portion of the day also. The kids were usually so tired when we got home they were just happy to go to sleep, plus someone was always in the same room with them, so we just kept them out of where they did not belong.
Have a great trip!

And remember, these cabinets are not that full-you could take whatever is in the lower cabinets and move it to shelves they can't reach.

thanks so much...you both had great points! Jared prob. will be pretty tired when we are "home" and not in the parks and it is good to know there is room to move things up if needed!

Take a couple of those giant rubber bands and wrap them around the knobs tieing two knobs together. The ones you will mostly want to do are the ones under the sink and the ones on the other side of the dishwasher. The other two cabinets are singles, with no other door next to them, but the one by the fridg is where the recycle bin is.

thanks for the idea. we sometimes use hair ties at home so i just joked with my husband maybe we should bring a package of those!

As the kids say, " 11 sleeps till Disney!"
