Thanks to the incredible SWA DING! fares ($82.11 total for non-stop, roundtrip Indy - Orlando), my son and I are going to sneak in one more WDW trip before our PAPs expire at the end of July. I haven't booked our DVC stay yet, but have a question for the experts (that would be you, my DIS friends!). Our flight leaves on a Wednesday and we return on the following Wednesday. I am frugal when it comes to using our points for Friday & Saturday stays. One option is to stay at OKW Wednesday and Thursday night, move to PC Friday and Saturday night and then back to OKW for Sunday - Tuesday night. I could deal with this, but I would REALLY like to just stay put for 7 nights in a studio at OKW. Does anyone have any idea what the liklihood is of getting a cash discount on a studio at OKW for Friday and Saturday night and ~ how much I could expect to pay? Also, if I did this, would I have a pretty good chance of not having to move twice? Thanks for any thoughts you have.

You may combine a trip with points nights and cash nights and not have to move. (Assuming you're going to book the cash nights with DVC, using your DVC discount, and not book them through CRO)

Regular T&T service applies just as if the entire stay was booked on points. In other words you do not get full cleaning on the cash nights as you would have if you had booked them through CRO.

As to what your chances are, nobody knows until you call. If you can go before the summer starts (schools out) you might have a better chance.

Good Luck. :cheer2:

I agree as far as your chances go but you just may have a good shot at getting weekend nights since you're talking about OKW ;) Call tomorrow and ask....sometimes they don't release the cash rooms until last minute and sometimes they have them even months in advance :scratchin If you book with cash using the member discount booking through DVC though, they will link the ressie and you most likely won't have to move. If they don't have it yet keep calling back and if all else fails call CRO and ask...their inventory is separate. If CRO has it you may have to check out and back in again and you also may have to change rooms but it may be easier than changing resorts altogether and if you have MS and CRO note on both ressies that you have a continuous reservation with both they may try and keep you from moving if they can.

HTH's and best of luck!

Rack rate for the end of July for a studio is $259 plus tax. With the 25% member discount, you would be looking at about $217 per night. It would be 27 points per night, so renting points would not make sense (unless you can get them under $8). If you have an AP and they continue with the $100 flat discount, that would be cheaper, about $177. You would have to do checkout and check back in but you would get full housekeeping for those 2 nights (this is assuming an AP rate would be available). There's a small chance you would have to switch rooms with a CRO reservation.

Thanks for the information! I think I'll give MS a call in the morning.
