What building should we request if we would like to be away from the major roads outside of OKW but be close to a bus stop & pool area? We're looking for something quiet. Thanks!

I would request South Point buildings 55, 54, 53, and 56 in that order. Another choice would be 41, 40, and 43. We like 45 and 46 a lot, but they are a bit of a walk to the nearest pool. I would suggest 48 also, but you run the risk of being under a GV, and that could be noisey. We loved building 15 also, but again it's a ways from a pool, and is a GV building.

Here is the map. Our favorite buildings are 45, 46, 55, 14, 15, 16, 21, and 13

We like building 35. Its near the turtle pond pool and also near a bus stop, but doesn't get much traffic noise.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. On the map, what does HA stand for?

HA means there are SOME units in that building that are handicapped accissible, but not all.

Do any of the balconies/patios at OKW face the parking lot? I'm guessing that they don't.

Girlfriend and I just got back from a lovely weekend, but had just a bit of a problem at check-in concerning room placement. They originally placed us in building #19. We are NOT smokers, and the smell was OVERWHELMING and made us both nauseous. Be careful! Even though they are officially "smoke-free", the remnants of smoking rooms are still there. They were very cordial and quickly moved us to building #18, which was perfect. Of course, this required another long walk to HH to make the "key change". But all in all, a GREAT resort.

Actually, my girlfriend and I were both talking about how hard it is going to be to get rid of that smoke smell completely. I swear it was in the drywall, paint, fan, bedsheets, curtains, etc. . . . . .

Just my thoughts. . . . .. .

Can anyone give me a description of each of the 3 pools? I believe the one near HH has the new slide, correct? But what about the other ones? Does the slide have an age/height requirement and does it empty into water that an adult could stand in (to help a child coming down)?

TIA!

I agree! I just came back from a week stay in Building 54. It was awesome! Even my DD liked it (after she spent 6 months complaining that we had to stay at "Old Funky West", as she liked to call it) it's now her favorite (and mine too). Of course, so far we've only stayed at OKW and SSR.

What are your bathroom needs? In many of the buildings at OKW, the bathroom for the 1 and 2 bedroom units is only accessible through the master bedroom, there is no door from the living area with the sofa bed. If that is not an issue, you will love your stay. We made our reservations at the 7 month window and did not receive our request for the additional bathroom access. This turned out to be a nuisance, but overall we like OKW.

This is only a issue in the "Phase I" buildings (11-29 IIRC). The newer buildings do have the access door through the laundry room.

We stayed in building 33 and loved it - golf and water view, fed the ducks every morning and watched the golfers - quick minute walk to the Turtle Pond pool which is large enough and quiet, plus has a playground beside it if you have small children. We'll be requesting this building when we check in just 30 short days from now!

True, but the point is that they may be placed in those buildings, no matter what their request is. If the bathroom is not an issue, then it is not a problem. If the bathroom is an issue, they need to be aware that they may not get their request.
