OKW building choices.....

We are arriving at OKW on 3/31 and I will be contacting the rooms controller next week. Because of my husbands bad knees (too much football!), I need to request a building close to the front, with elevators.

What are the building numbers for the buildings on you right, just as you enter the grounds?

Buildings 62,63,64 have elevators. You might be out of luck waiting so long for your request. The word is that requests are filled on a first come first served basis, and most of us make our requests at 11 months out when we reserve. You might also try to request a first floor room for handicap access.

Hi. The first floor units are easily accessible, and some are very close to the parking area (while others are a bit further). If you will be taking the buses it might be a good idea to be near a bus stop too.

11 months out for requests?

I have always called within the 5 days of our arrival, when the ressie comes up in their system. I am completely unaware that such requests can be made with the ressie.

Do the advance (more than 5 days) requests go through the rooms controller?

When you make requests at the same time as your reservation, they are noted on your printed confirmation and are in the reservation system. When the room controller pulls up the reservations, they should already be there. I attended the DVC meeting at BW last December and requests are supposed to be filled in the date order they were requested, so those made at 11 months would get priority (after such requests as handicapped).
