OKW bug problem? Anyone have any info on this?

I read from another Disney source that there is a bug problem at OKW and that Disney management is aware of the problem. I did some digging but could find nothing else on this.

We check into OKW in four days, so I'm a bit concerned. Bugs on property could mean in the parking lot and in the outdoor common areas, but it could also mean in the rooms and in dining areas and bars.

If anyone knows anything about this, I'd appreciate it!

I haven't heard about any specific infestation. It is summer time, and Florida is hot and humid. The Palmetto Bugs are in their high season.

I joined the DVC FB group and they said something about a bug problem at OKW and the issue being brought to management's attn but I didn't read further. Check Facebook.

Bugs are a way of life in Florida during the summer. I haven't heard of a specific problem, but I would guess that Disney will take measures to "handle" the bugs.

Seriously, though, Florida is a humid sub-tropical place and we have bugs.

The odd thing is that it's the completely harmless ones that seem to freak people out the most -- like the love bugs. We also have lizards, snakes, deer, bear, alligators, racoons, possums, skunks, etc, etc. Welcome to the great outdoors!

Just retunrned from my stay at OKW and can confirm that the bug problem is not an issue.

Didn't see many bugs on property at all, actually less than you'd expect in July. I also saw, on more than one occasion, Disney Pest Control vehicles on property.
