This is probably a little obsessive, but if should you rent a boat at Hank's at OKW, what waterways do you have access to? Can you go to DD or PO?

We're just thinking about non-park options for an afternoon, but I don't want to rent a boat if the area I can travel is really restricted.

Thanks in advance!
:p

well they have a boat from the same docks at OKW to DD, so I know you can get there from OKW. And on the way to DD from OKW we passed another waterway coming from the left and on maps I have seen it looks like that goes to PO (don't quote me on that! :) )

yes you can. but why? OKW has a boat that will take to DD for FREE!!! yes I am cheap - but that boat ride is generally enough for us.

they have certain areas that you must kept the bikes on.

You can boat through the channels to the lake at DD and that's really enjoyable. You can also go through the channels (take the left fork) to the PO/DL area. You can rent a few different kinds of boats to do it with as well. You wouldn't rent a boat for a trip to DD in order to get out of the boat and do stuff....that would get really expensive, really quick.

Thanks, all. I wasn't intersted in docking at DD, but thought a canopy boat or pontoon might make for a pleasant hour or so with a group.

I'm amazed at all the good info I can get around here. I love everybody!:D

Riding the boat between OKW & DD was one of the highlights of our stay there in terms of photo ops. Our driver took a great shot of us sitting in the boat with PH & HOB behind us.
IMHO, however, if I was to spend money to rent a boat, I'd do it to book an Illuminations Cruise.
But, back on topic... you asked about afternoon non-park fun.... another boating themed activity is to rent a water mouse from one of the lakeside resorts. I did so at WL, and had a blast! They move quickly, and you can follow the waterways from WL by the Contemporary, past the Polynesian, near the MK, etc. DH was sick that day, and he is so sorry he missed that fun.
I used a pass-extra feature to pay for mine, but I think they ran around $20 for a half hour... that may be off, since I didn't have to pay I really don't recall, but it was a blast. I think you can rent them from Poly & GF, too.

We've rented a pontoon boat at OKW 3 or 4 times, it's always enjoyable... Last I knew it was 44.00/hour... OKW was the least costly resort to rent boats at & they offer a member discount as well. We actually didn't rent a boat there this year, we rented a boat over at WL & liked it much better actually... The lake is huge & we really enjoyed boating around the resorts & the MK entrance... it is more expensive however.... They do offer a 4 hour plan which I'm pretty sure was 120.00, this turned out to be ideal for us, so I'm sure we'll do it again in the future... you don't need to be staying at any particular resort in order to rent a boat there, you just need to be staying on property & show a room key...

Also for non-park fun our family enjoys mini-golf & pool hopping!!

If you rent a boat at OKW, the trip down the river to DD, then up the other direction to the PO area and back to OKW takes about an hour on a pontoon boat. We have done that many times. It's a nice way to spend an hour or so.
